Default Pick me out a cam!

I have a stock 5.3L swap in a g body malibu.. runs fantastic.. but the key to rulling well and damn good in an ls is a cam swap and good tune.

The car has 3.73s... TH350 with 3600 stall converter.

This is just a street strip car that I want to make some sound as well as move the shiftpoint somewhere around 6200-6400 rpm.. with rwhp number of 350.

Also, it is a factory bottom end and I need something that wont have an ptvc issues!

Thanks!

^ That would be a healthy cam for your combo. Also can't go wrong with the TR224.

224R, 228R, Streetsweeper, MS3, EPS 226/230, Torquer V2/V3, custom grind....the options are near endless for a "street/strip" cam

I picked a 230/238 after talking to Geoff at EPS. He said that's about the largest he'd go to have well-mannered streetability. It's a good recipe for over 400whp LS6 with full bolt ons.

I wouldn't run anything bigger than any of the 224 cams...all of them are very similar

As long as the cam's lift is under 0.600" you will be good on the ptv issues

Why not any bigger than a 224 duration spec?
