what else is need for a head and cam swap
You'll need tools to remove the balancer (threaded rod/puller), & a power steering pulley puller. The power steering pulley puller/install tool can be rented at AutoZone/ Advance Auto, etc. You pay a deposit for the tool, and when it's returned, you get your money back.
How many miles do you have on your engine? Maybe you don't have to change the oil pump, but as long as you're in there, it could be advisable. Also, the timing chain. I'd say, if you have 70 or 80k miles, change it.
Did I leave anything out?? Anyone else chime in?
- head bolts (mandatory)
-GM MLS gaskets/ cometic (mandatory)
-ls7 lifters (recomended)

Only things I would add:
Oil Pump (I used the Melling 10295)
New Timing Chain/Gears (LSA Chain setup, got mine from Yank)
Timing Cover Gasket
Front Crankshaft Seal
Black RTV for the corners of the timing cover.
Depending on the spring kit, it may or may not come with valve seals, but it wouldnt hurt to replace them while your there.

May want to get a roll of the blue shop towels, 2-3 cans of brakekleen, and a few cans of high temp spray paint.....make sure you get all the dirt/water out of the head bolt holes, and you may even want to get a tap to clean the holes in the block.
