Default Help choosing cam

I just read through the sticky section and might I say awesome information.

okay so the time is now. Cam swap and I want to do this right.

Basic wants from this is an noticeable power increase. streetable/ strip cam. I'd much rather have an aggressive street cam over a daily driver cam but nothing too large. I love choppy idles

So with my wants heres the list i compiled.

PRC dual valve spring with .650" lift
TSP chromoly pushrods
double timing chain (unsure of brand)
Cam **Undecided.
wideband and afr gauges

Now I recieved a cam for free but I'm undecided on using it. It is a comp cam and is specd @ 224/232 .555 .575 with a 114LSA
Im unsure because it was lightly used in a supercharged ta and was grinded for that particular car.

My car is a 2002 WS6 with lid, TSP 1 7/8"primary LT's, custom catless true dual exhaust. So everything is stock inside the motor.
it previously made 358.5rwhp/369.7rwtq on my old exhaust set up. I was curious about what power I'd be looking at with cam.

If I were to do a new cam my friend recommended going with a 228/232 .588/.595 with a 110LSA
What do you guys think? New cam or used cam? and does my parts list look correct?
Id like to order main parts this week sometime soquick responses would be great.

Some good street/strip cams would be

EPS 226/230 112LSA
228R
Torquer TV3

I'm running the EPS 226/234. Makes awesome power and the street manors are great. I would go for a 112lsa over a 110 myself.

Imo give the cam you got for free a shot, it will have some lope and should make decent numbers n/a and do good on spray so take the extra cash and buy an ud pulley, 85mm maf, some type of ram air kit and compliment it with a nitrous kit and a good tune!!!

Thanks for the responses guys. As far as the torquer cam I feel like over .600 is too large on stock heads. I'm really thinkin I'm gonna go with that 228/232 .588 .595 with a 112lsa and 112icl. I just think itd be safer all around to get a new can that fits my build. Does anyone object to this custom cam or have any input?

That should be a good cam. I would just hit up Geoff at EPS and do a 226/230 or 226/234 on a 112 and call it a day. You'll be more than happy
