Camshaft won't move....

Sounds like you need someone guiding you that actually has some experience. You need to do some serious research before attempting something like this. Are you planning on upgrading all the necessary parts assciated with the cam? Like pushrods, valve springs, locks and retainers. Might as well do a timing chain while your in there. Planning on re-tuning your computer I hope.

Motenkj, welcome to LS1tech.
The search function will be your best friend.
You do sound pretty new at wrenching engines so go get a Haynes or Chilton book and study up on what you wanna do. The LS1howto stuff will help also.
You'll need good tools, the battery disconnected.....lots of stuff.
Get a friend who's done this kind of work before and go slow.
And yeah, if you post silly questions, you're gonna get spanked. Don't take it seriously, but learn as you go along.

Yeah I am pretty new to this lol. The engine is on a stand as of now and I am replacing all of springs and pushrods since it's only an LS6 cam. At least that's what I got from my research so far. And I'm doing a new LS2 timing chain and gears. When I started this swap I had someone to help me but that fell through epically in the middle of my swap, so now I'm doing this and a complete swap into a thirdgen by myself. Thanks for the advice and keep it coming cause I'm listening and learning guys...
