I'm sure if he used carbides and things all over it went faster, but it took me 14 hours and a bag of sanding rolls to get all mine as shown above (which as you can see isn't near perfect) after a friend cut down the guides and rocker bosses. Some places I just couldn't get with the tools I had.
Congrats though, yours look amazing.

Ya, I did the same thingnot sure if you can see it in any pics. Turned down the collect nut end, it cleans up maybe 5/8 round and brought that to about 80% of its length. So just the end 1/8 has the hex for the thin wrench. I dont use it much anymore so thats in the injector hole lately, been useing longer stuff. I hate the noise that makes when you would hit the nut ![Cry](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cry.gif)
Cool, some people on here notice the good hand work

thunderstruck is that finished? what size is your throat, looks small still. You can gain alot and not touch most of the port at all
You don't have to just go around and sand everything.

Yes, that was after I was done sadly. I didn't know enough about how much to take where and had no access to a flowbench so it was just a lot of effort on my part to clean up the casting. The flash in my ports was horrendous.
The intake guides were trimmed like that one, the rocker bosses were removed, we blended the seats to the head to remove the lip they had, and I went over all the areas I could with sanding rolls. The exhaust ports I went to a finer 120 roll set.
It took a lot of time and effort and was a real eye opening learning experience as to what goes into porting heads. Something like the work you did is amazing to me after having done what little I did to mine.
Thanks for sharing the pictures

Ya we started the car but it runs kinda sluggish, and making some popping noises? I noticed some light around the exhaust valves when we put them together, I think we need to lap them more? Looking for some 40 grit lapping compound
cleaned up vj, and lap. still dirty, got the final wash after this.

I roughed it to 1.815, 90.75%. So I bet I could get a 1.82 gauage after finish flap roll for the **** pics.
Over a 3.89 bore and .630-.650 lift makes about 450+
wheel with a fast. This is were to set up the head, (listen thunderstruck) I've made that with a stock port few times, its bad ***. Don't wast your time "sanding" random spots, the port supports a lot of power with the rocker boss, the .990 PRP all that. I think I posted about the

Looks good.I ported a couple sets using a different setup, and it was much easier.I have an electric motor that i hang above me and works off a variable speed foot pedal. And the wand with the bit is connected to the motor with a long drive cable. That way your holding a very small wand with just the bit, nice and lightweight, and easy to control, and the foot pedal makes it nice and easy to control bit speed for doing different cuts
