It really depends on what your goals for the car are. For me I bought a cam and some 243 heads so I decided to upgrade my rod bolts to Katech Bolts and I replaced the oil pan gasket, front and rear seal gaskets, and the front cover gasket, but this was becasue of the cam swap. I am going to look at my bearings when I swap out the rod bolts and make a decision on them at that point. I am a believer in if I am going to replace a bolt then I buy and upgraded reuseable one. I bought ARP cam, flywheel, crank, and head bolts for my swap.

What are your plans? If it's something you plan on keeping a while then I would go through and replace all the gaskets, put in new timing chain, oil pump, lifters, put in arp head bolts and good rod bolts.

What is the procedure for replacing rod bolts on a motor that is currently together and has been ran about 50,000 miles. I have it on a stand and have been looking at these rod bolts but don't care to shell out for new bearings on a perfectly good running motor. Anyone have any info?
