I wish...I'm lucky to have a chair...unfortunately, it's older than dirt and has been reduced to it's plywood base.

C5c16z, is that intake closing at .050 or .006 lifter rise? The .006 will give more accurate calculations.

Ok man...what I have come up with is right about 9.5 to 1. You should be fine on 93. If your cam had a little more overlap, it would be even better. But what I can come up with says you will be fine with a spot on tune.

i thought 8.5:1 dynamic was the max compression i could run on 93 pump gas ,, how much more overlap will help drop that 9.5 to 8.5 ? will advancing or retarding the help with me being able to run 11.5 static and a 8.5 dynamic compression ,,,

i have heard 8.5:1 dynamic is max and about 12.0:1 static is max for pump 93

if i can be in the 8.1:1 to 8.5:1 dynamic i will be good to go and mid 11s for static should be nice,,

and i guess i am screwed i am going to need a custom cam that will allow me to run that dynamic compression ratio more overlap,,i have 13 deg of overlap with my current camshaft will 16 deg help also more overlap more of that choppy sound correct ....

I believe you're trying to say:

.006 off = 63cc for 10.6:1 compression
.012 off = 62cc for 10.7
.018 off = 61cc for 10.8
.024 off = 60cc for 10.9
.030 off = 59cc for 11.0
.036 off = 58cc for 11.1

I know I know, old thread revival. I googled "milling 799 heads" and this thread popped up. Perfect info, this is exactly what I needed confirmed, but I just figured I'd correct it in case anyone else searches and needs the info like I did.

I'm going from 862s to 799s and wanted identical compression, so I had .015 cut off. It appears that I will be exactly where I want to be.
