Both tend to gain from low in the RPM range over a stock head - I've yet to see either lose anything in the ranges guys do pulls in, which is typically 2000-2500 or so and up. The full CNC work tends to gain 4Xrwhp over the as cast 243 vs. about 10-15hp less for the 218cc partial CNC work.

Tran - be careful if the calibration is that far off running it under heavy load.

Hope that helps; thanks for your interest!

I'm also interested in getting my 243's done and was wondering would either one be OK for a daily driver?

Yep, I am being extremely careful until I get the new fuel pump in.

Hmm, decisions decisions! I'm not sure if I can fork over enough cash for the 226's though. I might jus' opt for the 216 CNC Program.

The extra $200 for the 226cc head seems well worth the extra work.

I'm not positive on this, but I doubt you could send the heads back in the future, and have the remaining "226cc" work done for the same $200

Save up for another month or so.
Do it once, do it right.

I even went one step further and went with the AI 219 HCR. I have the 230, 238 113 cam. It drives great, I can lug the car again, easy to take off from a stop. May want to check this option also.

Good thread, OP. I'm torn between 3 different porters right now.

Ed motherF'ckn Curtis, AI, and TEA
I ended up going with Ed. Just did the valve job and springs. I couldn't afford a full blown CNC job. He also did the cam, which was his Streetsweeper HT.
