Default Am I nuts? :loco:

I am planning on getting a 224/224 /581/.581 cam in my car along with all the goodies (lts, ported tb, 4.10s, etc). Now, granted i can do this myself im gonna let either cartek or eastside do the job justy to make sure the car is dont right. Now when i tell people what i am plannig to do, they say it is a mistake cuz the car has only 8900 miles on it. The reason i picked the 224 is to stay relatively mild. Do you guys think that car is to "new" to start playin with the internals or now is a good time to do it? Im goin for the broke to make sure the car is done right, hardend pushrods, zo6 oil pump, rollmaster, ls6 intake. Also are maley springs enough for should i go with a double and which will eliminate any valve float?

Damn, a '00 LS1 with only 8900 miles? I say do it, you won't regret it once you have these mods installed. The people telling you not to do it apparently are not into modding cars. And do the installs yourself if you can, it makes the rewards just that much sweeter.

And drive your car more.

I've had this cam in my car since 8/23/03 and for about 7K miles. No problems with it what so ever. It actually drives a lot like stock after the tune. I really like it a lot, but now I wish I had gone with something a little bigger. Maybe like a TSP 228 112 LSA.

Put the cam in, my car is similar in mileage and I'm looking for a new motor build.

I've got the 224/224 .581/.581 112 LSA cam from comp and I was pleased

I dont wanna keep replacing stuff i just wanna put it in and be done with it. The only thing i may do is in a couple years put in a 427....other then that...im just puttin in the cam just to have a decently fast ride that is just as reliable as the day it left the factory.

I just finished my install for that exact cam. 224/224 .581 I really like it so far. I went with LT's, PP5.3L heads. I definatly need a tune, but my car is an '02 w/ 16K on it. Heck people told me the same thing! I guess it's just the itch to feed some speed to your ride.....

Since I was running the SLP loudmouth before this the exhause is way too loud right now so I have to figure out a way to quiet it down. Thats my only complaint, if you call it a complaint
