Your total lift is figured by using the stock 1.7:1 rocker ratio....so you multiply your lobe lift by 1.7 to get total lift.....or in your case with the 1.85:1 rockers you multiply your lobe lift by 1.85 to get total lift.

Also when you go to a higher ratio rocker your lift increases, but you gain a degree or two of total duration

See if this helps......

If you can visualize the length of the rocker arm from the fulcrum or center of the rocker arm to the end that actuates the valve, you will see how the length will determine how much the valve opens.

0.496" lift with 1.7 rockers.

0.496/1.7 = 0.2917" lift at the lobe

0.2917 X 1.85 = 0.539" lift with the 1.85 rockers.

Should be plenty streetable, give me awsome power under the curve and a nasty idle, also work well with my $200 806 CNC ported 290cfm heads.

Usually there is a pushrod length that needs changing as well. Good luck!

The low lift was the only down side to the ASA cam....other than that I have always liked the specs for a good sting street motor....but, keep your stock rockers on the shelf because if you go with a bigger cam later down the road the 1.85 rocker can limit your cam choice.

On rockers that the LS1 has that is true, since there is no stock adjustibility, the Pushrod needs to change. Getting the proper swipe pattern is the most important thing to make sure the rocker is where it needs to be.

Yup. Just measured the pushrod length and centerline. All is good here. Just dynoed my 98 ls1 with 183k on the shortblock. Stock ls1 intake mani, 290cfm 806 heads, 1.85 rockers, and asa cam just put down 415hp and 409ft lb. With an aluminum flywheel. On a sae correct dyno i might add. Wow!! Used the 918 springs too. And it feels like its all there too
