Like Ed told me, more air = more power. It will compliment the cam, not take away from it, as I was worried about.

Ya exactly. We have seen how well a FTI cam and AI heads work before. It should be a nasty setup either way.

Pro-Porter heads...basically the aftermarket brand head of your choice but no CNC work,no valve seats and no hardware...pretty common actually
I know of someone that makes a private label port design based off of an as-cast unported Warhawk Head...

To bring this back, I've been e-mailing back and forth with AI about their 232cc ported 243 heads and I had asked if they offer an option of selling the actual castings, as I don't have a set. Phil said that they are all out and that GM really raised the price of the 243 castings, so that's no longer an option. Phil then e-mailed me a link to the AI Dart/RHS heads they offer. I asked him what the HP/TQ difference would be between the Dart/RHS heads and the AI 232cc 243 heads and he said the Dart/RHS heads would yeild about 15 more HP over the 232cc heads on the same setup because of better chamber design. I think that sealed it for me. Since I don't have the 243 castings, the AI Dart/RHS heads makes great sense.

Thats pretty damn impressive. I thought I remember reading about 10 hp over the 226's but 15 hp over the 232 program is intense. Did you talk to Phil about PM guide options in them at all? I know the Dart/RHS program is basically for guys like you or me who dont already have 243s so it makes sense. Dont know if id rather have these or the HCR 241s..

Nate,

With your current cam and those heads I would think you'd be well on your way to your goals. With the low-end grunt of the TorqueMAX cam and the impressive average power it makes, these heads would be ideal IMO.

That said, all the programs that have been discussed in this thread that are done by AI will yield similar results. We all know that AI does great work on LS and LT style cylinder heads. I would have no problem letting AI do this RHS program for me knowing the results we consistently see from their shop.

I hope you do it. I REALLY want to see how they do. I applaud you for being interested in the road less traveled.

Found out one of my 243s was jacked up from a home port job so this the route I'm taking. Really excited to finally see some results from these heads!

This seems to be the most logical choice. Phil is going to hook me up with the heads, minus springs, for a good deal. For nearly the same deal, Brian Tooley can hook me up with the TFS 220cc as cast heads. Any opinions on which of these two heads would be a better choice to go along with the cam?

I think the CNC ported RHS heads will make more power than the As Cast 220's. My opinion of course.

Your opinion means a lot to me, especially since you are the one who designed my cam. If I want to acheive 11.5.1 compression, what do I need to have the heads milled to? Remember, my cam measured out at 227/235 110lsa and the ICL was at 105. I do not want to have to flycut.

Just wanted to update everyone that my Advanced Induction Dart/RHS 223cc heads, milled to 60.5cc arrived yesterday. They look fantastic and I can't wait to get them bolted on. I will be starting a new Thread tomorrow after I snap some pics tonight. Stay tuned.

I'm going to create a new Thread with pics and keep it updated once the heads are on and the car is dyno'd.
