4L60 Street cam
Hey guys looking at a mild street cam for my DD. In the past i have run a 232/230 on a 114 lsa in my turbo ta and a 251/247 on a 112 lsa in my 408 car but this time things are a little diffrent. I have a 2 year old little girl that likes going to car shows with her daddy . And i need somthing mild thats not going to kill my MPG and offer good street driving. The car will be dyno tuned after the cam (rpm in garner nc) and i plan on adding a LS6 intake and 243 heads down the road. My future goal will be a little over 400 whp on motor but for right now i would be happy around 370 (give or take) I have been kicking around idea's for the last week ranging from the 224-234 range and any thing from 112 lsa up to a 115. My first picks have been the 228R and the torquer 2. Any advice is welcome guys.
99 TA 55,000 on the clock stock 4L60 with 3.23 gears
Raptor hood/lid intake
pacesetter LTs
TSP duels out the back
Yank PT3500
Other mods
SSBC brakes
Hotchkis suspension
Car is 99% street car but does see the 1/4 once in a blue moon and maybe a auto x every now and then

228r or something like a 228/234 .588/.598 112+3 xer cam....that cam with a ls6 intake and a set of 799 heads imo would get you 400 hp and drive great! For valvesprings id get the bt racing springs! Very nice product! My friend has a 232/236 xer cam in his 98 z28 and it bucks alittle in 6th with 3.42's.

I would recommend looking at the 228R on a 112 for this type of use. It has a very broad useable power band and once tuned drivability should be great. Its been a very popular cam for us because of the drivability but solid performance gain.

Yes i agree. The LS6 cam just seems like a waste of a cam swap (no offense) but the smallest cam i would swap would be a sleeper 113/220 115lsa but i am looking for somthing a little bigger.
RPM recomended a 228/230 grind on a 112 LSA with just under .600/.600 lift. Duel springs would be a must.

I second the 228r on 112 LSA. Just installed it in my dd about two weeks ago. With Lt's, LS6 intake and 243's I made 390whp through a 4L60e and 3600ss stall. It's drives great around town And gets good mileage with my 4.10 gear. It's averaging around 20mpg.
