Question Heads + Cams? advice anyone?

i'm looking at throwing some heads + cams in my 99 Z conv. i just wanted to research a little more and ask around people that actually have some what their opinions are. the only ones i've been looking at are the slp's. i deff. need to be able to pass emissions, want to keep all my stock AIR and EGR, but want to get the most power i can. also, will be a daily driver, but i'm not worried bout payin for gas, just want something relaible and that will last. any advice on products, what you'd recommend, what to avoid, etc. also, what else you would suggest doing intake/exhaust supports/braces rear end, etc. for a stock car to be able to handle that extra power. any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would do a search for "TR224" or "224" in the title. You will find information that will keep you busy for days. Generally a TR224 114 lsa is about the biggest cam you can go with and pass sniffer emissions (with tuning). The fact that most agree this is the best "all around" cam for the ls1 is a nice bonus good luck.

Another vote for MTI!

MTI Stage 2E Heads and X1 cam. 10's first time out was proof enough for me

Not sure what your emissions test consist of.. may need to talk to other in your area and see what you can get away with for a cam.

Just call up MTI. They'll take care of you. The LS1 Stage 2E's go for $1595 and the 5.3 Stage 2E (higher compression) heads go for $1795 (no core).

Either set combined with a X1 cam will rock!
