cam choice Have a ls6 with tsp 2.5 truck heads and ms4 cam. The thing is its in a ford ranger dezert truck 5,000 lbs 2800 converter 5.43 gears with 37" tires truck pulls good but thinking the cam might be a little big .Any suggestions ?
Smaller cam for sure. Heavy truck. 23x/23x for that little bit of lower rpm tq to get that beast moving on big tires. I'm curious to see what the experts say though. Good luck.

IMO your stall is too small for that size cam.

cam choice we run tighter conv because we get into tight places were we have to climb tight trails for miles and makes trannys get to hot .We will run from 100 mile to 1000 mile races can be 125 deg outside
I would agree that the converter is a bit small for this combination, and that if keeping that stall speed is a must then another camshaft would be better suited for your application. The 224/228 camshaft would be an excellent choice, definitely in power range for your LS6 with the 2800 converter.

2800 stall is pretty much standerd in our sport its spinning the tires all the time so it revs quickly i really thank everybody for there help have the vegas to reno race next month will have to wait untill then thanks!!!!
