Default Post your Heads/Cam setup + hp/tq #'s

Im not asking the usual stupid "which cam is best" scenario because i've read all the posts about that nonsense and its obvious/was already obvious that there is no perfect h/c setup.. trust me, im aware.

To help in my head/cam endeavors, please post your heads and cam setups
with some dyno or even crank hp/tq #'s. You don't have to include supporting mods/bolt ons but that'd be pretty nice as well, thanks a lot guys
-Heads/Cam shopper

for example: (my buddy's setup)
Heads: Ported Stockers
Cam: 223238 split duration custom grind by Thunder Racing

Mazzenger, quick question. most a-m cams i see you guys using are exhaust favored but why do you see some aftermarket cams with the same numbers for intake and exhaust valves? Zero overlap? is there a point for spending money on such a cam?

Forged bottom end 347 cubic inches
Trickflow 215's milled to 59cc 11.5 static compression
Fast ported 102 intake manifold
NW 102 TB
Vindicator cam (240/244 .605 .596 112LSA)
Texas Speed 1 7/8 headers
Texas Speed true duals with bullets
Fast toys ram air
Fast toys 98mm lid
Underdrive pulley

No MAF speed density tuned
466rwhp/416rwt through a M6 with 10-bolt and 3.42's

Cams are spec'd as part of the engine combo itself. I more restricted intake might have more lift or duration same goes for exhaust to try and band aid there shortfalls, a nitrous cam will have more of a split and exhaust duration to help get rid of the exhaust gasses. There is alot more that goes into it though and I'm not the one to try and give advise on the intricacies of valve timing. There are some great post on here and yellowbullet if your willing to search and do some researching.

P.S. Check out the dynometer section to see all the different results people are getting out of their combos.

Don't know how much help this will really be, as I'm running a forged 383 bottom end and full exhaust but still stock LS1 intake and tb on top...

ported/polished 853 (stock ls1 heads) and comp cams XER273HR (specs in sig) made 396hp / 406tq

I'm hoping to get a 96mm intake and tb on there by the end of the year and will post new dyno numbers if/when that happens.

My next step in my setup is to replace the clutch. But as far as the motor goes my tuner pretty much said the choking point right now is the LS6 manifold and stock TB. Next engine mod will be FAST 92/92 combo.

Whats wrong Phoenix you jealous? LOL I agree it is a friendly dyno, but I have had it dyno'd at a different local dyno and it was much hotter and humid and it was lower by 12rwhp and 16rwtq.

I was looking for more top end.

I have had a 221/221 cam - impressive down low with decent midrange - no top end.
I have had a 230/232 cam - impresive down low and impresive midrange - decent top end. (awesome cam)

The 237/242 cam suited me better for the top end pull and a 4000 stall deleted any down low lag.

Thunder Racing cam, 224/224 .563/.563 114lsa
Patriot Stage II heads
LS6 intake
Full bolt-ons
Pacesetter Long-tubes
Running through LS7 clutch w/aluminum flywheel, 4.10 gears, and 17x11" wheels

Very streetable cam with mild manners. Won't set any dyno records, but performs better than expected.

Just bustin *****. I do like your combo. I'm doing something similar with AFR heads and a similar sized Ed Curtis cam.

Its cool man I'm just picking at you a little bit. AFR heads and a similiar sized custom grind is gonna be FUN. Be a good solid performer on the street and track and have great street manners. Good luck with your combo
