This is why it is definitely the best measure to have them checked out anytime you do this, no matter what bolt...

you might not be able to read it but you sure as hell can watch it
But on a brighter note , i did it in the car and the motor was fine . 428 to the rear wheels every year for 4 years in a row now.

Look around outside your world Mr perfect and see some of the instances. You think I only checked 1 set of rods? This is not my first rodeo with these rods and bolts. Out of 5 sets I have personally done, one was very close to spec. Still out, but very close. The rest were all out in left field somewhere.
I also know that I'm not the only one who has experienced this, so saying "one set will most likely not make them out of round" is false information.

Well done.
Glad to hear it, and good to know.. Katech's bolts correct?

I've used (replaced while motor in car, one bolt at a time, no cap removal) 3 sets of katech bolts. 3 different motors and none had failures due to bearings. In my 01 camaro, they lasted 70k miles at 6800 shifts. (until a nitrous spike took #5 & #7 pistons out).
Maybe I just had good luck with them, I dunno.
