Need Help Picking The Right Cam!!

Anybody saying the torquer v2/v3 is not street friendly either has zero experience with the cams or they need to find a different tuner. I'm running the v3 on HP Tuners in the city with no problems..why leave any potential power on the table? And like dr_whigham said, with the proper set up and quality springs, you won't have to worry about going through springs.
Peak power, yes....
What you big cam folks wont share is the low end power #s or the curve. That's why bigger isn't always better. With a lot of duration and lift, low end power will suffer! That's why your driving habits and goals are important to know. If you are a 1/4 mile guy, peak power is it...Autocross/street you don't want to spin the engine up to 7200 rpms. You want the power low in the rpm range
You are spot on, tuning depends on the tuner. Heck there are MS3/4 people out there on the street. Do don't eliminate a cam for that reason.
Cam swaps end up costing a lot of money when you do it right....so choose wisely...lol
Lifters, oil pump, new gaskets, timing chain, fluids, pushrods, tools.....it all adds up!

i used to have the torquer v2 and it was very streetable, however it was a dog downlow with stock 3.42 gearing. It was in the car when i bought it, if you decide to go that route, get it advanced 4 degrees instead of the usual 112+2 texas speed sells it with.
My vote goes for a custom grind from Martin though
id suggest a 227/230 lsl/lxl 114+3.. might be a little more mild than you are thinking youre looking for but driveability would be second to none and have plenty of PTV clearance for heads down the line

Nothin wrong with a little more RPM with the 114 lsa and itll broaden the powerband, less peaky. 111lsa might be a little much for DD'ing to the average person and a hassle to tune depending on the tuner. Couldnt run high compression milled down heads with that tight of lsa and advance without flycutting either IMO like 11.5.1 with 60cc but that might be a bit on the extreme side too lol

A cam with 6.5* overlap isn't very much overlap for a good tuner to deal with at all. Plus, with a better DCR the 111lsa doesn't need as much compression as the 114lsa cam would for very similar results. With a M6, the 111lsa works great for me, but I'd probably go with a wider 114 lsa if I had a A4.

FWIW I have a torque cam coming out soon for all you torque junkies.
Been proven to make 444rwhp/414ft. lbs. with stock 243's with a valve job, Fast 78 and that cam with 11.5:1ish SCR.
Not only that but the power curve is insane. I'll see if I can dig up a graph of my buddies dyno chart with a nearly identical cam.
