Default stock cam with prc .650 springs?

So I just bought a huron speed turbo kit and I needa get some money for it so I'm thinking about selling my 224r and putting stock cam in. I have read that you need better springs with boost so I thought about just selling the cam and keeping the springs in... So my question is. How long should these springs last with stock cam??? I would think they could go a long time with stock cam considering they are made to use with high duration/lift cams...

I wouldn't even be concerned as to the length of time they will last. I'm assuming they are dual springs. You could always sale them and get a set of beehives of some sort.

I know they will last a little while, but are they going to last as long as stock springs would last with stock cam or less?

No valve springs experts with any info on this? How many miles should the prc .650 dual springs last me with a stock cam?

No expert but I would think the stock cam would be way easier on the springs than a bigger cam. Forever?

This is true, but there is a point where the springs can take a toll on the rest of the valvetrain. Idealy, you want to run the lightest spring possible without running into valve float. The heavier springs will be harder on the lifters, valve seats and pushrods.

I'd sell them and pick up a set of ls6 springs and cam. The ls6 cam will give you more potential under boost than a stock ls1 cam.

If you are going back to the stock cam but also going with an FI setup I would check in the FI section to see what the recommended spring forces are and work from there. I don't think the time they last is the question, it is how much spring do you need to control the valves under boost.

If you want to run the springs, run them. If you want a good beehive for boost PAC-1219X. Either way you can't go wrong.

I woud not assume they will last that long. Never assume anything out of any high performance part. They were not designed to outlast oem parts.
