450/410 here! been probably 2000 miles on it....kind of a garage baby...doing my direct port setup now..should hit 150-200...

i spin to 6500 tho...as stated rpm kills these motors faster than the amount of power

452/417 with mods in sig. Short block has 146k and is running like a champ. A lot of guys have mentioned it, but there's a lot in the tune. Safety and longevity are key for what you want to do, so get a good tuner.

wait I just read your sig again and realized it was tuned by Geoff @ EPS. How do you like the way it was tuned? He a good tuner? That may be a stupid question to you but serious on my part lol. Im in Springhill, LA so itd be about a 5 hr drive to Baton Rouge where EPS is. Be worth it to have it tuned there?

RPMs is what will kill these motors. With your donkey dick cam you will want to spin to at least 7000RPM. Put Katech connecting rod bolts in it and spin it to the moon. I make 470whp on my setup and spin to 6800 at least every time I drive my car.

Are you pleased with the Katechs? think they are worth the money? or should I go ARP and resize the rods?

Yes. Just make sure you install them exactly the way they tell you with a good (calibrated) torque wrench. I just used my craftsman which is nothing special but the closer you can get to the proper torque the better. Make sure you lube the threads of the bolt good as well as under the head. Pre-torque the bolt the three times it tells you with one final pass and you should be fine. I was a bit leery on doing it but my buddy spins his motor to 7200 with them and he is OK too.

Phone is acting crazy, so I can't quote for whatever reason, but yes, I'd have Geoff tune my car if I was you. There was another guy in there getting a retune from a cam only 228R and hated it. Shift points (he was A4) idle, just everything was jacked up. I don't think I've ever heard so many "thank yous" in my life. He does awesome work.

After 6800 these motors sound like they are going to explode IMO lol. They hold together fine, it just sounds so painful spinning them past 6800, lol. Seems to sound worse in my buddies t-rex setup than mine, not sure why.

Yeah they do sound like they want to give up then haha. I wont be spinning it up that high thats for sure. Probably wont even spin to 6500. More like 6200-6300.
