Yeah the car will move at 2300 but realistically you see 3k+ all the time while actually moving along with traffic. Quiet exhaust makes a ton of difference.

Hmm. I guess I can wait on the exhaust last.

See how the Headers/ORY into the stock CB sound before deciding on what to do next. Luckily, the stock WS6 exhaust sounds pretty decent. Probably will kill 20rwhp in flow, but that's why they make electric cutouts

Secret to tolerating a big cam/converter for a DD?

TAME EXHAUST!!!

I daily drove my white car for 2 years every single day rain snow shine... Long trips and to work.
ms4
prc heads
FAST 90
LTS X pipe 1 chambers before axle
410s
4400 converter
weighed 3000#s

I ended up putting it back to stock and selling it... Why? Cause I got sick and tired of the exhaust. If it wasn't what I drove every single day it would have been fine. If it would have had a magnaflow on it, it would have been fine. The exhaust with the 410s/ms4/dumped/4400 converter made me hate the car because it was SO loud regardless if it was idling, cruising at HWY or town speeds, or a normal pick up.

Quiet the exhaust and even the most radical setups with a good tune and quality parts will seem tame.

Power under the curve? You're talking like one of those confused manual trans guys. You have an automatic with a loose converter. Even with a 3600 stall once you go WOT you'll never seen anything below ~4800rpm.

As far as tolerating the exhaust... You have a few choices. Go with a single exhaust catback style and sound like ****. Go cheap and run dumped duals - it will be loud, it will resonate, and it will eventually get old. Or you can do it RIGHT and run duals out the back.

You can make a Y pipe setup sound decent and flow great if you don't it together like everyone else.

Thanks Jake. I don't think catbacks have to sound like crap at all. I love the sound of our magnaflow. And it's efficient enough so that it runs better times with the cut-outs CLOSED.
I recommend you talk with Andre at Edge stalls (look it up on-line) about rpms in town driving. The 3,200 he did for us when driven casually is almost impossible to tell from stock. I know that he could make us a 4,200 that will drive better than most other brands' 3,200's too. Kinda hard to knock his results too

I have an Edge and I really like it, but if chasing drivability I think most folks who have tried a few brands give the nod to Yank for best drivability.

The 3800 stall Edge I have pulls on the brakes at idle more than my wife's bone stock 2003 Impala does. So it is not sloppy or anything and I am happy just saying guys I trust who have used both brands invariably say Yank drives better.

The exhaust points are good, loud exhaust will make it seem like you are always deep in the pedal. Then again "loud" is subjective. My car is ugly, one day on the way to the track I got pulled over for no front plate and loud exhaust, gave me a fix-it warning, hour and a half later at the track I have people commenting on how quiet it is for a mid 11 second NA car.

Lol Chad, that's awesome thanks. That's a 244/244 cam right?

And I guess I need to look at the Kooks dual setup again. Ugh why must it cost so much.

Also one reason I like FTI - very tight. Greg told me the 3800 is probably the best bet, so that's what I'll be doing vs the 4000.

Whatever happened to MTI (in Houston) anyway. Didn't they become a car dealership or something?

I'm running setup in the sig. I've got a y-pipe thru a Hooker Catback and you can't tell the cars got a MS4 in it until you open the cutout. Still dialing in the shocks but shes been turning 11.2@120mph. But my convertors for a NA so I can't run NOS without changing the YANK.

I wonder how the SLP PowerFlo would sound in my setup. Bullet in the I-pipe, and two small canister mufflers before the tips and all stainless construction. Hmm. $585 shipped.

Powerflo is overpriced, and it looks dumb on a camaro unless ya have a cme, gmmg would be a better way to go,op if its a street car a big cam is just a pita, even in my 6 speed car, drives fine but im ready to pull it for something else,if its a track/race car then i can see it,

And with that cam i would think at least 4.10s,if your hardcore you can do it,i would stay within the 230s,imo there is no need to go any bigger,as far as the mo tune, just use that money for a tow, also with that setup i would go duals for exhaust,my ms4 car picked up alot over my catback n y setup, just know big cams are max effort, every mod you can do will only help, there not budget in anyway, fyi i bet in 2 months you will wish you went with a smaller cam,ya do what ya want but a lil bigger cam isnt going to make it anymore beastly over a well thought out setup

235/242 112+4 is what I'm with with a 3800 stall.
