Default Will I "have" to get a tune?

Right now my car is tuned for just the Torquer 2 and bolt ons. I'd like to get a set of 243/799s and hand port them just for a little more power but I don't want to make another 4 1/2 hour trip and spend 300-450 bucks on another tune for an extra 20hp. I know I"ll need a tune to get the most out of it but would it be ok to run for a while anyway?

I would, you are going to be moving a lot more air.

Prob don't need a new tune for car to run right, but you will only see a lower end power increase compared to a retune...

Yes you need a tune for it to be safe. A 4 hour drive and 300 bux is a lot less than a new engine.

I say this because while at part throttle the computer and o2 sensors will get the car running fine, however going full throttle it will be really really lean and that is dangerous. All that extra air in the engine without added fuel will lead to lean AFRs and detonation, which lead to busted or melted pistons.

At least get a mail order tune update just for the WOT portion to be safe. Then you don't have to drive and it's going to be a lot less money.

it will run but it won't run right. I would advice to get a tune. Should be cheaper since it's a retune

I wouldn't advise running without the right tune for your setup, although it would probably be fine in a short distance (like up onto a trailer), definitely do not go wot.

I would recommend a re-tune, you could call your tuner and ask for advise but his most likely answer is yes lol

Agreed for retune.
You'll move more air and could run into a lean condition on top. More air usually means more fuel.
