Default Advanced Induction 5.3 heads or Texas Speed 2.5 5.3 heads?

i looked at the flow charts and saw that Advanced inductions exhaust flows more that Texas Speed's ,but Texas Speed wins on the intake side of the chart. So which is the better head? (with custom cam, intake, and longtubes of course)

Don't look at flow charts #1.

#2 AI. They cost more, but they make power and provide insane throttle response.

#3 TSP makes a good head for the money.

Well they come out a little cheaper if you do that. Just have Phil install some nice valvesprings on there... the BTR Platinums would be my choice.

Have you run both these heads on the same engine? Very interested in seeing the graphs!

Our porting prices are actually a bit less expensive than AI's, and we can port customer castings as well. Our heads sold outright and equipped with the same parts (as apple to apple as possible) are also a bit less expensive. I'd put our 5.3L heads up against theirs in a power test, no problem!

I put this in every thread about AI's 5.3 or 241 ports. Results and writeup are excellent.

I think either head would be in the ballpark of each other. I emailed back and forth with AI about 10 times discussing my options and final mill and PTV numbers. They made the heads just for my cam/clearances. I like the personalization. My heads arrived at their shop friday. They were back on the brown truck Monday and we emailed throughout the weekend getting the details finalized. Wow is right.

I chose AI as I wanted something for how I use my car and also wanted to use my stock casting heads and I know they would be hard to sell. I am pretty happy with the results.

The only complaint I have is AI only communicated thru email, kinda hard but they had OK response, just had to wait for it.

I like the TSP heads, but don't know how they compare to AI's.

My car makes stupid power with the TSP heads. You can't go wrong with either, but TSP's price is right.

last i dyno my tsp 5.3 heads cam car i put down 437rwhp in an A4 with a 4400 stall(and 3:73)both dont help dyno numbers..
.
i since removed my hooker ypipe to 4inch mufflex ypipe with flowmaster merge dumped..so its safe to assume im at 440rwhp..oh and dynoed on hoosiers, which i hear robs dyno numbers too from what i hear...

now im sure AI makes a great product, but feel TSP has a great products as well..I would def buy from TSP again and wouldnt hesitate to try new offferings,or products from them in the future...

this is no way a bash at AI as i feel they have great products from what ive seen on here but i have no personal experience with them but i do with TSP and have been pleased with their products and customer service...

Well how about this one for starters lol...With mods in sig I made 405 rwhp on one dyno, and 460 on another, and both were Dynojets as well lol!! Regardless, my combo is almost identical to LS1TFTW, and hauls *** for what it is, so I say go with something that is proven and is priced well

Out of the 2 I would just do the TSP. They are a proven head. If you would throw TEA into the mix it would be my first choice.

I would say the 405 one would probably be right. What does car weigh and run at the track?

Really? I though 405 sounded really low for my combo. Even Texas Speed said this combo would probably produce 420-440 on their dyno. I just got the car like three months ago, so no track times yet. I've raced a few cars though, and one being a ported/pullied 03 Cobra that I only lost to by one car by the top of 4th. Who knows when it comes to dynos lol

i would think you would beat a 03 pullied cobra..my cam is close to your( 232/238)...couple years ago i raced my buddies pulllied cobra..

to make a long story short i spun and my back end ended up near the grass on the road so i briefly stopped, and he got a big leadon me, at least a couple cars...

well got back gained traction and floored it and passed him and let off when i had bout 5 cars on him...he stared sayin" BIG BOTTLE" so i popped the hood and let him see for himself that i did not have nitrous.. maybe retune your car dunno, but it would seem to me you wouldnt have a problem beatin a pullied cobra with your mods

You raced a huge turd of a pullied Cobra. We have one around here that with a 2.75 upper (pretty much it) the car is roughly a 123 trap car in the 1/4. For you to "let off and then put 5 cars on him" you would need probably a 130+ car. Sorry, unless your car is 2800 lbs you aren't that fast.

Not hating, just speaking the truth.

Racing on the street is great for excitement but poor for knowing what your car is actually capable of. Go to the track and find out. Same for comparing components. Dyno numbers are cool but don't tell the whole story.
