I doubt the V2 would beat the V3 all things equal since the V3 was made to outperform it's predecessor.

There are probably better cams out there, I don't know this is my first cam swap. But the V3 is not too much for a street cam.
Did you start on a cam only setup? If so what did you put to the ground

And the best part is TSP's custom cam generator will let you spec that cam out and include it in their packages so they still get the sale since you wanted to order from them. That cam would be very similar to the common EPS grinds that Pat G has been spec'cing out and everyone who has one loves it and they make great power. The main difference is the use of the LSL lobe on intake instead of the EPS lobe.

I'm not saying the high lift can't "work" but there is no reason for it on stock heads and the power gain it might get isn't worth the risk of damage to springs and rockers.
Yeah, TSP custom cam generator is very easy to navigate, and he could even go with a 230(.609"lxl) for the intake lobes and have better valve spring life then with the V2 which runs xer lobes.

So your saying get the same specs as the v3 but with a .609 lxl?
If that will only cost me a few ponies that might just be the way to go......

The cam swap itself is easy, it's just time consuming to get to the point where you're inserting your new cam. IMO, as long as you have planned ahead, just take it a step at a time and you'll be fine.

Good luck, and enjoy the experience!

I would be surprised if it even cost you a few ponies on a stock heads car.

You'd possibly lose a few ponies over the v3. So you'll want to go with a LXL 230(.609) lobes for the intake and a LXL 234(.612") lobes for the exhaust, 111lsa and a 108ICL (111+3). Now if you went with a LSL 231(.617") lobes for the intake I seriously doubt you'd lose anything.

You could go with an EHI lobe as well. It has as much duration as LXL at .200" but is an endurance lobe like an EPS lobe, so it'll control the valve better. But because it's a little bigger at .200" it'll perform like the LXL and just short of the LSK. It also has about .638" lift.

231 EHI lobe specs: 282/231/154 duration, .638" lift. Lobe number 12668R.

The LS1/2/6 I/E and LS3 exhaust rockers are all the same. Springs - well, stock springs won't work with any of the lobes we're talking about, but any of the LS drop in springs will work.

I see that Comp Cams has the 2013 lobe master catalog out now. Looks like there's more lsl lobes to choose from.

OP, don't be scared of the V3. It has been shown to make some awesome power with a set of TSP's budget 5.3 or LS6 heads, as referenced by the guy with the SOM car in this thread and here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...fast-90-a.html.
not true, the V3 is very streetable and can be daily driven no problem , i have a v3 in my stang and it makes good power all the way to 7300rpm , i have driven my car to the track 90 miles one way many times and got 18-20 mpg .. dont be scared of going with a V3 cam

It's my dd...I've heard people on ls1 tech getting better mileage...but still high 20s on 3.42...
Does your power curve go up all the way to 73 or does it flatten out before it.

M6...Im pretty sure all autos come with 3.23s or 3.08s...one of the two...I know autos have more consistent track times but I LOVE pulling gears...something about the control feeling I like.....the only time I ever wish I had an auto is in heavy traffic
