Cam recommendation?
Working on cleaning up a Ls6 and need a cam for it my goal it to get close to 500whp it will get all the supporting mods probably going with Prc 227 heads and the shortblock is getting dropped to the machine shop this week so the pistons could be cut very easy while there. This is a play car not a daily driver but i still want to be able to hit the road if needed but i want a nice lopey sound also! I was looking at the Ms4,Polluter,G5X3,Trex and a few others i know they will sound great but dont really know if they will make the same or more power than a smaller profile?

you should contact Pat-G or Martin at Tick for a custom cam.check out the EPS website for a custom cam.what intake will you be using ?read the sticky for making 500rwhp.or search chrss1313 for his great threads on chasing the 500rwhp mark.

I have read most of those theads which vary allot everyone can make power with many different combo's but i was kinda leaning towards on a shelf cam. I dont have a intake selected yet but probably a fast 92 or 102.

Just to let you guys know we offer two versions of the V.2 Polluter.
One is 239/244 .624"/.595" 112+3 and the other is 239/244 .624"/.595" 111+2.
Here is a basic bolt on T/A with completely stock 241 heads and stock LS6 intake/TB/MAF with a SLP lid, TSP 1x7/8" headers and 3" True duals before and after the V.2(112+3 version):

Damn. I never realized the polluter had such a nice torque curve. 350+ ft lbs at 3,500 isn't bad at all for a nice size camshaft. That would work real nice with a 3,600-4,000 stall. I think it would be a great camshaft for someone with a weekend cruiser. I bet it works great with a moderate size shot as well. Good job Martin.

Since you don't mind fly cutting as it will be very easy to do while the engine is out, have those 227 heads done with 58cc chambers and fly cut. The added compression will help make a lot of the camshafts inefficiency at cruising speeds less noticeable and more pleasurable to drive.

I was planning on bumping the comp. up with hopes it will help the lower rpm's and i will more than likely bump the gear ratio up to 4.10 so i really dont think at cruise speed rpm will be that low. What would be a good choice of stall speed for the V2?

If you had to use a 3600 stall I would recommend a smaller cam such as the 235/239 112+2 Stage 3 "SNS" cam or the Street Heat Stage 2 (233/240 112+2). Both of those smaller cams will make slightly more torque at 3600rpm than the larger Polluter cam, which will allow the car to accelerate faster. With a larger cam that makes less power at the rpm your stall flashes too, you won't get your car moving as quickly from a dead stop or a roll.
