10-bolt is the lightest. 12-bolts are maybe 30lbs heavier? A 9" is about the same but stronger. S60 is a little more than that, and somewhere between a 12-bolt and 9" in strength.

I like the S60. Good engineered solution that's good enough for most cars.

If you need a rear to withstand huge huge power, something like a MWC Fabbed 9" would be best.
Agree. For my car, the S60 makes the most sense as well and my car is nowhere near where your car will be here shortly.

I've heard Carl @ CRP is a pleasure to deal with too.

I use to have a built 10bolt in my ta with a spool. I highly do NOT recommend doing that. I have a moser 9inch now. I ripped the 10bolt out week later LOL

I've always been under the impression the S60 is the STRONGEST of all. That's why it has the biggest axle tubes and is the heaviest.

If you're at 800+rwhp everything is a wear item. So I'm not sure it matters much if one is slightly stronger or whatever.

Below 600rwhp, most everything will last, sans the 10-bolt.

Built 8.8 for the win. Cheap to build and strong as hell.

If one has the time, patience, mechanical & fabricational skills, then I agree 100%.

Since I'm severely lacking in the time, patience, and fab departments, it'll be an S60 for me lol.

And the winner is the Dr. Between the 12-bolt, 9" and the S60 the S60 is the strongest. The penalty is the additional weight. If You want strength and lightweight prepare to dig deeper in Your wallet.

Also the 60 series Dana rears have been used in thousands of Chevy trucks.

This by no means is the "end all" solution for every application. But for the dollars spent vs durability it is an excellent solution in lots of hot rods.

Thanks for the info Carl. I knew the base S60 package was going to be plenty for me.

Jake, have you considered relocating the coils ...?
Getting the coils of the valve covers will go a long way in cleaning up the engine compartment, and it makes spark plug access a snap.

Nah, maybe down the road. When I do a stroker, I might do some nice valve covers and a coil pack relo.

Seems to be a very true statement. Seems like anything above 600 has more maintenance than miles. They become shop cars, not driven cars.

I think all cars of this caliber should be taken out of the get to and fro from work crap and garaged if possible. Not to mention not driven in the rain unless your caught in it lol. Too much weekend and cool night time to be had.

My car is my third car. I drove it 1000 miles last year.

It sits in the garage. I wash it just to clean the dust off.

+1. I've done roughly 1200 miles in the past year.

So, are you on hold until you get your cam?

7k. I'm working on pulling the trans and exhaust tomorrow and maybe the fuel pump.
