Ah. Yeah, I'm torn between an FTI 3600 and 3800. Greg tells me the 3600 will drive nice but the 3800 will be beastly... Decisions.

Those Fikse wheels are awesome. I asked them for a quote but think that'll be a little further down the line. Really want a set in race black for my WS6...

Just asked Mike @ TEA to add a port-matched/cleanup FAST 102 to my order. So another item down.

I thought about it and for the money, it's worth it to get the FAST matched to the heads. I figure while TEA is working the heads, now is the time to get the port match since that will save time/shipping costs. I've seen that be good for 10rwhp+ so I think it's a good mod.

I got an awesome deal on a sale, but I waited a long *** time.. Lets just say between the wheels and tires I would be pretty close to a H/C/I build like you lol. Black centers with a polished lip would look amazing on a black WS6.

Bringing this back up as I just got my UPS confirmation that TEA is shipping the heads/intake out today. Also, the EPS cam is en route. I did a last minute change on the TEA heads and had the turned-down LS3 valves added. I figure less valve weight is never a bad thing. I've also ordered other miscellaneous things like a new water pump as my current one seems to be chirping like crazy (at least from what I could tell trying to listen to each pulley). So hopefully this fixes the problem. It started after I added a Power Bastards alternator, so I'm hopeful it's not that.

I've also been talking to Erik Koenig about a 383 using my current block with Callies Compstar Crank/Rods and Wiseco pistons. That'll be a next year project, but the list of things to do is now considerable for this build. LOL

Sure thing. It's a port match, but it looks like what Brian Tooley has posted before. The intake needs to be port-matched in an offset fashion to fit the heads properly.

Like I said, this is more of a port match and not a true "porting." This kind of port match and cleanup could be done if you have the patience and a grinder.

Got the EPS cam today. There was a bit of confusion as it came from Cam Motion. Spoke to Geoff and confirmed he is now using Cam Motion to grind his cams. He said Comp's QC and cores have left a lot to be desired as of late. I've heard this from several other vendors as well.

The Cam Motion core is a better aluminum, so that's a big plus. I'm glad he made the change.

Yeah, I didn't want to flycut and wanted something I could drive everyday. Otherwise, I would have milled to 59cc, flycut, and run a 239/244 or something similar.

You did. You know when I go to a 383 I may run this cam and have a really docile driver, or I may go with a polluter on a Bullet core...

Yeah it was sweet. I bought his WS6 hood from that car when he switched to I believe a Mecham?

Geoff isn't the only one. Even Ed Curtis quit using Comp for the exact same reasons. Brian is a really big fan of Bullet.

So Jake, what #'s are we shooting for? What's the goal?

Goal is at least 450 through the A4. If it's any less than that, I'm blowing the car up. If the shortblock was low-mileage, I would probably aim for something closer to 470, but I'm being realistic here. Of course, I'm pouring a ton of money into all the little things, so I wouldn't be surprised to see more than 450. I hope.

We've never had a problem with a Comp cam fwiw. Just degreed a 238/250 .615"/.615" 118+6 blower cam for a 418 we're building for a customer with a 5th gen and it was .5 a degree off. That's it, and .5 degree isn't going to do anything. Most I've ever seen a comp cam be off was 2 degrees on the ICL and even then, 2 degrees isn't going to hurt anything or do anything noticeable.

Another engine we we're putting together here at the shop this week... we degreed that cam(comp cam) and it was .5 a degree off. I have heard(on the internet) of some being off more than that, but never personally seen one off that much. I do like Bullet though, we just have never had a problem with Comp, but if we do, Bullet will be who grinds our cams as that's who does some of our custom camshafts.
