So, the car is pretty close to being done. Just haven't updated this... started putting things where they go ha. But the seats, new trans crossmember, trans cooler, suspension, etc are all finished up. I just need to installed the true duals and bleed the brakes again then it's off to EPS for a final tune.

Here are some pics:

Trans cooler hooked up (I've since pulled the straight fittings for 90 degree fittings to get the trans to sit in the tunnel - I was worried when I jacked the car and it wouldn't move that I busted the fittings, but everything seems ok. Guess I'll have to drive it under pressure and see if it leaks eep!)

And the AN fittings installed:

Decided to change the rearend fluid since it's all old and gross. In the process, I am going to put a TA Aluminum girdle/cover to try and help the 10-bolt out some along with some Royal Purple 85W-140 fluid + GM addictive.

This was the trans crossmember rubbing against the trans. BMR sent a new one and the new one doesn't rub nearly as bad. As soon as my brother is off from work we're going to loosen the motor mounts and see if I can't gain the 1/16" clearance needed.

Got the new seats installed after the first brackets sent from 6LE were welded upside down (and yes a 6-point rollbar is next if not a full 8-point cage).

Brakes finished

Thanks, Paul. Wish I had invested in the lower end first go around like you... but hopefully this holds for a couple of years. I have my eye on an LS3-based 416 with these heads and maybe a Cam Motion solid roller cam... Everything else would support 400+cid which was my intent as I purchased. And in the grand scheme of things, all the other items end up costing way more than the motor.

The 10-bolt may last on the street, but I don't know about the track. I guess we'll see. A Strange 12-bolt is on the list. Along with nitrous, the cage, tubular k-member and lower/upper a-arms to trim more weight off of it, and a few others things - like the stereo, some paint touch-up, and new tint.

Jake, the Nitrous is addicting. Just throwing that out there. Instant torque is tough to be on a hit, and out of the hole, it takes all bogging out of the equation.

I have a quote for a killer system from Nitrous Outlet... I'd keep my converter. Chris @ CircleD said the 2E is okay with a 150 hit... but it's more a max NA converter. But I'd rather build the car for NA and then throw something like a 150 on top and see what happens.

Exactly what I did. Plate, lingenfelter box, nano, and a progressive controller. Love how smooth it ramps in my current 150.

Can you PM the details of your setup? Brandon @ Nitrous Outlet put together a quote with the Window Switch/TPS and Lingenfelter 2-step. I don't see a progressive controller in the quote - but maybe the TPS is good enough for that?

In what has to be the slowest build of all time, I finally got around to doing more things. I bled the brakes (and now need to command ABS to stop being a bitch so I can get the last bit of air out of the ABS block). Got the wheels mounted, finished up a ton of little odds and ends, and drum roll, got the Kooks True Duals installed. It went fairly well and was a pretty straight forward install. I took my time and made sure I had clearance everywhere and the kit fit together wonderfully. Just a work of art.

And yes, the car is dirty. The problem with redoing your house while your car is in the garage near a lot of the sawdust.

I have an appointment to see Geoff @ EPS on Tuesday 8/26. I'm excited to see what the engine makes... in the heat/humidity of South Louisiana in August.

If it's anything short of 500 to the tire with a 52 page spread, I will be disappointed.

Been watching your build since the beginning Jake. You've learned a ton through this build and now seem like a pretty experianced LSX enthusiast. Ultimately this is what our hobby is about. Congrats on an almost completed build. Don't sell out!

Good to see it coming to an end. I've been waiting forever lol.

Crazy that you're taking it to a tuner in another state lol.
