Default prc 2.5 stage 5.3 heads on an lq4

Anyone have any experience w these heads on an lq4 6.0? What's it place your compression at? Milled and unmilled? HP and tq gains? They seem to be a good option as opposed to finding factory heads and paying for a port and polish job.

Did you find more info on this? TSP told me to run these heads instead of the l92/ls3 heads because it would increase my compression to around 10.5 or 10.6. Whereas with the l92/ls3 it would be low at around 9.6 with the dished pistons.

So I'm thinking I'm going to go with the 2.5's. but I'm still researching

I had a thread real similar to this asking about the same heads on an LQ4 as well. he majority of people on here told me they would rather use 243/799 heads than 5.3 heads. They flow better and have larger valves. I just used a .040 head gasket to get some of my compression back. I am sitting around 10.5:1 right now on my stock bottom end LQ4 if that helps any.

Oh really? 10.5 compression with the dished pistons?

Milled 243s with a thinner headgasket can most certainly get the same compression ratios as 5.3s with a OEM thickness headgasket.

l92/ls3 heads milled .030 or milled .015 used with cometic .040s will net you 10.2:1 and make more power....

If you have the cash, buy them and get a cam ground for them on your 6.0. I had plans for a similar set up but I sold my top end for school tuition. The lq4 will take abuse like all GM motors.
My plan was
a set of cnc 706 that flows 298 cfm @ .600 ( flow bunched local for confirmation)
A tsp ? .233/239 ? @109
Pushrods, cheep *** ls7 lifters and ls6 intake.
I got the heads for 250, the cam and lifters for 100 ( new and cheep) to go In my TransAm
After using an online compression calculater, I saw a ratio of 11.0-1 with the head at 60.5cc witch is fine with a compstant tuner and pump fuel. Look on yellowbullet.com and research. You will see plenty of lq4, 5.3 heads and runing fast.
The person I sold my combo to blew up 2 stock Trans , 2 stock 10 bolt and smoked a bike on the highway with a 150 nozzle kit.
5.3 heads are great. Use them and spend mony on other things.
