You wont be able to hit those numbers with a factory LS1/LS6 intake manifold. You will need to swap over to better intake.

FAST makes an excellent one.
FAST 102

You will also need a throttle body, and better injectors (if they aren't already installed should be minimum of 42# for your set up).

Injectors (Select from drop down, set of 8)

102mm Throttle Body

Exhaust and the right heads are also key factors to getting the power you need. We had a customer with a ported 102mm intake, 102TB, ETP 245cc heads (remanufactured), roller rockers, custom spec'd cam, 1 7/8 exhaust make 568rwhp (M6). Pretty stout for an NA 383, but allot of work to get it there. It was a top notch build with no expense spared.

Thanks,
Kyle

I think 500rwhp will be a challenge under 400 cubes. You need a 6.0/6.2/7.0 to get there easier.

I'm with badazz, I doubt you'll get much more than 500 hp and only if you have a M6. Which cam? Lift specs don't mean a lot.

Gonna need a helluva lot more than that to even sniff 500rwhp, much less 550.

I figure you're in the low 400s right now depending on the actual size of the cam and how "worked" those heads are.

A 650hp goal N/A on a 383 LS is dreaming. If you get there, it will only be from the best heads out there, the biggest cam, spinning it up high, but you it will drive like Azz! Driveability will be lost for sure.

To get an honest 550hp to the wheels, you need a stroked LS3 or the LS7.

Tony Mamo did it no problem .you will need a good cam to go with some good flowing heads.

500 with that lift can be done but more to then just lift and cam. 550 can be done but it wont be done at a cheap price. and by the way i hit 500 with only 603/596 lift. all about setup......

I dont think youre gonna do it without dropping some big coin on great heads and valvetrain.

Ive got more cubes, a great set of heads, a fast manifold and all the goodies and I can only hope to hit 550 which I think will be a stretch possibly

I would venture to say it's going to take some 7-10k to reach your power goals.

Stroker bottom end 2k
Killer heads 3k
valvetrain/cam 1k (not going to do it with your cam)
intake and fuel 2k

You're going to need to beef up your drivetrain to handle the power and rpms, so 10k is most definitely what you will need to spend.

Im sure he had tons of hours porting and working the intake and heads not to mention all the money invested in the valvetrain. I honestly do not see a non drag oriented street friendly car making on pump gas with 550rwhp from a 383 N/A.

Do you have the build thread?
