V.2 Polluter on a 111LSA Idle!
#23
This is what it made a few months ago with just intake, long tubes, ORX and exhaust:
The last V.2 cam we did on a 2002 Trans-Am picked up 65rwhp. With the added compression of the LS2, the added cubic inches, added head flow of the 243 casting heads and better exhaust lay-out of a Vette I think that we can pick up a solid 60rwhp/20rwtq which would put this vette in the 440rwhp/400rwtq range! Gonna be a hand-ful@3200lbs.!
Here is a new idle clip with the idle set at 850rpm's versus 975rpm's in the first video...which do you guys like better? I personally like the 975rpm idle better and it will be easier to drive that way also, but some like the idle a bit slower.

Both idle clips sound pretty nasty!
I know you used different lobes when you designed this cam so it will be less harsh on the valvesprings. How long do you think the valvesprings will last before needing replaced?

Thank you Nathan, I couldn't do it without my awesome customers! The trust you guys have in me is I will admit scary sometimes, but it really gives me the confidence needed to try these new things and find out the results!
Ignore the #7 run file, we are using the same file from November when we tuned this customers car with bolt-ons.

Well guys, we couldn't seem to best our first hp pull numbers which was surprising to us. What was even more surprising is what little we have had to modify in the tune to allow the car to idle, drive and run very nicely. I just got back from a drive in the car and it pulls like a freight train from 4500rpm to 7000rpm. I have some video of us lugging the car around at 35mph in 5th gear at 800-900rpm along with 45-50mph at 1000-1100rpm in 6th. Around 55-60 in 6th gear if you really try to make it surge and jump it will do it slightly, but if you've ever driven a cammed M6 car before, and with a good tuner the drivability is not bad at all. I can tolerate a lot, but I wouldn't mind DD this car at all!
Here is some media for you guys to drool over!
We ended up at 12.6-12.7 AFR at WOT which is where the car liked it best and it has 23-25* from 4000-5000rpm and then ramps to 27* degrees to red line at 7000rpm.
Comparison from November when we tuned this car with bolt ons to after the cam install:

I personally think mail order tunes are a waste of time and money. I've seen guys gain ridiculous amounts of power going from a "good" mail-order tune to a decent dyno tune. As in 25-30rwhp on a N/A car and close to double that on a boosted car.

Gary I honestly think the best tuner in the worlds mail order tune is no better than the worst tuner in the worlds dyno/street tune.

Well played Martin, well played. The Vette looks smokin in that (Artic?) White. Sounds vicious as hell, and by the looks of the graph, it doesn't just talk the talk. Impressive numbers man! Congrats on a job well done. (again!..lol)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm sure they know you're not bashing. I bet you put that bitch in gear, get the engine under a load, and she purrs like a kitten. (IMO it sounds great at idle, I can only imagine what it sounds like taking off from a light)
