Question balancing issue?

hi, i know a 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L use same crank stroke, but combinating a crank from a 6.0L as example with a 5.3L pistons would make balancing issues?
do all cranks weight the same?
thanks.

anytime you mix and match internal components its a good idea to have the assembly rebalanced. the cranks are likely close in weight but the inertias most likely will never match each other.

i have 5.3L block, and crank bored to 4.000" with 6.0L pistons and rods, it is breaking trans bellhousing, three bellshousing broken now, i suspect it is about internal balancing issues, i suppost i'm disassembly whole engine...

sounds like you should stay away from the car.
This is the first I have seen of someone claiming 4.0" is OK on a 5.3l block.

You seen to be clueless about the difference between "balance issues" and "balancing issues". You certainly caused "balance issues" but not "balancing issues".

Any shop could have easily rebalanced it if you brought it to them.

"balancing issues" would imply a shop would have had a difficult time doing the work if given the opportunity.

The crank definitely needs to be balanced, but considering its a 5.3L and the rods and pistons are from a 6.0L, you'd be better off finding a 6.0L crank that's closer to the right bobweight or at least not need heavy metal.

What made you bore the 5.3L block to a 4" bore? Did you sonic check it?

If the motor was that bad out of balance, to break three bellhousings, it would have already beat the bearings to ****. You have other issues. Tell us a lot more about the car. What kind of motor mounts and tranny mounts are you using?

Did you check the bellhousing for out-of-round?
Where are the bellhousings coming from? Are they stock?
How/where is the housing breaking? Do they break the same way?
