Pull the valve covers and rockers and check... I would if I did that. Take out the push rods and roll them on a flat surface to tell if they have bent.

It will take a couple of hours per side. You will have to remove the rockers and pull each push rod. Roll them on a flat surface and see if they are straight. I would pray if I was you.

I did the same thing last year at commerce. Was trying to go into 4th but hit 2nd, after that I imedaitaley pushed the clutch in. My car has felt the same since I did the rookie shifting. with my Nittos I now hit my best @ 13.2@106.95 so i have to say my car is still strong. Your car should be OK enjoy... Also no problems with the car, no SES what so ever..

I would THINK that if you bent some pushrods you would know it. Get a tap or something from the motor - at least a little clicking or something and possibly an SES light too. It doesnt hurt by any means to pull the PR's and check them. Its really not hard to do at all (looks scarier then it is) and 2 hours should be plenty of time.

Roll them on a pane of glass (glass table top) and you will actually be able to hear if they are bent as the wobble as the roll across the surface.

I wouldn't worry unless the thing was making a racket. I mean, you couldn't bent the push rods, but if it's not ticking you're probably ok. The thing is, when you bend a PR, I don't think it'll set the SES light. When you pull out some of those bent rods, you'll be thinking how the heck the thing ran. I've seen a couple really nasty ones, but the car ran pretty good.

I did the same thingran up to 5500 RPM in third and jammed it into 2nd saw the tach max out past 7k for a brief moment before I pushed the clutch back in.

Scary stuff back tires skipped a bit, could lose control like that or blow up the rear end

Car still runs real hard it was a week ago so I'm thinking everything is ok.

I've order a B&M ripper shifter in hopes that once its in it never happens again.

I've driven a lot of manuals and have never had this happen and I'm surprised to see that several people on the threads here have done the same.

So your saying your car still ran hard up to redline even with the bent pr's?

Chances are you will be ok, but it never hurts to check- better to err on the side of safety! When I was younger I accidentally dumped a car into reverse from drive and it was fine after, no problems...but, like I said, it wouldn't hurt to check it out anyway.
