No I didn't speak to Brian about the patriot springs. Good thing they went out of business or else this problem could still be happening with other cars.

What is different about the two springs? Any one really know? or they just are? Like rainbows and posi tracks on a plymouth.

Not sure what you are running for oil, but the new SN oils won't protect with with the higher spring forces and loads we are all running in our modified cars. I switched the Amsoil Z-Rod for this very reason, it still maintains the older ZDDP and phosphorous levels to protect these highly loaded parts.

Something to think about with your new setup.

Thanks for that, oil is always on my mind

Car is up and running, mechanic says it sounded great and the A/C was blowing cold. Also stated I need a slight tune to control the start up idle which I already knew I had to get especially with these new heads. Picking it up tomorrow.

Car needs a tune but other than that, sounds very good, a bit deeper sounding than before.

I would not run that 160 degree t stat. Run it stock temps.

Helps burn contaminants out of the oil and allows parts to expand like they are meant to.

Brain did spintron testing on the Patriot springs and the results were not good. The springs could not even handle the cam they were using at idle. Was not an aggressive cam either.

Fans haven't been calibrated for the 160 T stat so it still goes to 225 operating temp, was watching the temp on my aeroforce gauge. Once I get the tune, I'll have the fans come on around 175. I do live in hot Florida after all.
