Default LPE GT2-3 Installation

My engine & parts are being dropped at the shop on Monday. I'm having a LPE GT2-3 installed in an LS1 with 9.0:1 pistons (when 64cc chambers used), 6.0L '317' heads (with 72cc chambers) and a Radix with a 3" pulley (9 lbs boost).

Question: Should the cam be installed straight up or with some advance? +2? +4?

I installed mine straight up...I dont see much benefit to doing it any other way since the cam offers a broader powerband than other peakier cams out there.

So putting some advance into it 1) brings the power band in earlier or 2) lowers the power band in the rpm range?

My build goal is for a 1500-6500 band...and although I have not been able to find any info on the range of this cam, the duration appears to put it where I am aimming, correct?

The motor's being machined & assembled by Morgan's Machine & Marine in Walnut Creek, CA...they do alot of race building. He's pretty enthused with the parts I've put together. After I get it into the truck I will to take it to Combination Motorsports in Vegas for a dyno tune. Might be around first week in June or so...but I will definitely post the dyno sheets for all.

I'm already being warned about my tranny...even with the bolt-ons, folks in the know don't think it will last long!

Goober: I see in your sig that you're running the Comp R lifters and 7.4 push rods but nothing about adjustable rockers...how are those things working out for you? I have been reading the posts about problems with achieving correct preload without the adjustable rockers...

You are correct.

My GT2-3 hp peaked at 5750 rpm and the tq peaked at 4750. This was on a bone stock LS1...

My car N/A, with the GT2-3 and bolt ons made 368hp and 359tq. I wan to say the peak HP came at close to 6K and the tq peaked at like the 4.5k.

How bout that. I doubt I'll be milling my heads as they are new castings (unless there is something afoul), so without adjustable rockers I would have to shim. And at my shop's $90/hr rate, I would probably break even at best and be better off purchasing the rockers.
