Looking for a good DD cam suggestions?
I'm looking to install a cam come this summer, I have the following mods at the moment- BBK Long tube headers, SLP Lid, and true duals. I want a cam that wont be hard to drive with yet something that will give me a nice lope. Yet I still want to have some reliability considering the car is driven daily, I like the TSP MS3 but I'm thinking that it may be too aggressive of a profile for DD? Maybe the comp cam 224/228? Also how much should I expect to be spending all together considering I'll be doing all the work, and can you give me a list of all the parts I would need. Oh yeah the car is a M6 and has 82,000 miles on it.

Hey Alvin, what about a cam for my 2003 GMC truck. I pulled the motor out of my car and put it in the truck. Its a completely rebuilt LS1 with PRC Stage 1 heads, a small Comp cam, factory truck intake, LT headers, a rebulit 4L60E tranny with a Circle D 2800 converter.
I haul my 02 Camaro with the truck as well my boat, a load of gravel, firewood, motorcycles and anything else that I throw in the bed.
The cam I am looking for still has good torque but I would like more HP and something that sounds lumpy.
Your thoughts?
Chad

Check out our Attitude V1 which held the cam only record in Trailblazer SS's for several years. We have a V2 out too which is a touch bigger (fastest NA TBSS right now) but still drives quite well. Intake duration still in the 220's.

I would go with something similar to an EPS 230/234 or 230/236. You won't be left feeling like you went too small but any half *** decent tuner can get it to drive like stock.
The EPS intake lobe and maybe a LSL exhaust should be easy on the valvetrain but still have good lift.
I have the 230/238 and I love it.

230/230 .612/.609 111+2 LSA cam. It has 9* positive overlap so nice lope. It will make excellent mid range trq for great acceleration and you will not have to spin it to the moon to make any power. If you like, PM me for specs.

How about springs? I was thinking about probably doing Lutani beehive springs 74818LUN and then not doing a cam over .600 lift due to the fact of it being a DD. What kind of push rods should I get? What length?

I run the Torquer V2 and really like it but I have ported 5.3 heads, and 4.10 gears too. It would still be a good cam, and would work well if you decided to do future mods as well

Okay here is my list of parts
-TSP's camshaft package (http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1157-te...ve-spring.aspx)
Going with either the Torquer V.2 112 LSA or the 228R 112 LSA
-Melling HP oil pump (http://www.ebay.com/itm/380608285830?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D380608285830%26_rdc%3D1)
-Timing cover gasket set (Napa/Fel-pro)
-GM pick up tube O ring
-LS2 Timing chain set (https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...new-gm-55.html)
-misc (oil, antifreeze, spring compressor, etc)
How does this look? Suggestions or advice? I'm right at 1000 bucks total for parts at the moment, giving 100 or so extra for misc stuff like fluids.
