Wow I did not even realize that AI RHS/ DART 223 existed. I had seen the option at the top of the page but never clicked it. That very well might be the way to go. It looks like all around flow is better than the ported 243 that AI offers. I will email him to get more details.

The no call thing is strange. He has his phone number at the bottom of his email so I asked when a good time to call him would be and he said he would prefer to keep everything in writing in email so there is a record of everything. From a business standpoint I do understand this to an extent. If I do end up buying from him I am going to ask again that he give me a time to call him.

I wouldnt hesitate at all buying from AI. It seemed strange to me at first that he liked dealing in only emails but at the same time I dont mind it. I am a not really good at talking to people and dont really think to ask the questions I really want to ask on the phone. So through emails I can ask what I need to lol.

But he does need to schedule a time to talk with you if thats what you want. I see tons of people now using their stuff and are making great results so obviously he is meeting their needs and getting the stuff done right.

I can understand the sentiment of wanting to talk to a vendor. It's nice to be able to pick up a phone and talk, explain, and get some dialogue going both directions.

But look at some others, like Ed Curtis @ Flowtech Induction. No phone number in existence that I'm aware of. Fill out the sheet with YOUR specs from your car, what your desires are, and you get a custom tailored cam within 3 weeks. Shoot some emails back and forth for a combo perhaps.

Some of these shops simply don't have the overhead, i.e employees, to stop the work they're doing and chat for 15 minutes. They'd never get orders out the door! LOL.

OP, some great heads have been tossed in the mix here, and I'm certain you'll make a good choice.

My point still stands though about giving Brian Tooley a shout and talking to him. As mentioned, TEA was his company for years, and still has a close working relationship with Mike, as well as having parts ON THE SHELF ready to go.

All I can say is the port work AI does on their Dart/RHS heads are awesome. I think they are a great option because you get an aftermarket casting that is fully CNC'd and these heads allow you to mill them more and still have PTV clearance, meaning you can raise the compression, which equates to more power. I'm running 11.5:1 compression with these heads and the car is noticeably more powerful throughout the entire power band.

Do you have any dyno numbers or anything? What octane gas are you using that is allowing you to run 11.5:1?

IDK what Rise has, but I'm at 11.7 and I run QUALITY (Shell, Chevron, Texaco) 93 only. My AFR's are at 59cc

Like I said, if you have 243s, just give them to Tooley. With a 235 LSL intake lobe, he'll get you close to 520rwhp with TEA Stage 2 + his tricks on a 346. Show me another head that makes that sort of power with that small of a cam. You can't. Not with a 346.

Way back in the day, and im talking 04-07, approximately tea heads with 22x intake lobes seemed to stay in the 425-450 range, and 23x intake lobe cars hung in the 440-475 range pretty consistently. Alot of those combos used LS6 intakes also. The only other 243 heads ive seen do that were Carteks and they charged a hell of a lot more money for theirs

Also, when cylinder heads are measured for flow numbers on a flow bench the larger diameter the bore fixture is the larger the flow number will be.

^Yup.

TEA has always made power. 470rwhp with a Futral F13 and LS6 intake back in the day. People got away from stuff that worked...

I've been so on the fence about keeping my F13 HL or just going a total different direction. Especially now that I have the Circle-D 2E, I might copy CrazyElf's setup as it works rather well...

5xx out of a 346 is extremely difficult. Not saying he didn't do it but it sounds like good work plus a happy dyno. And that's all I have to say about that.

Where could I look up more info on these heads? I went to Brian Tooley's site and they are not listed on there.
