Default This COMP cam looks a little fugged up... would you run it?

This cam came out of my original engine, the new owner pulled it. It was in the engine for aprox 30k miles. I wanted to run it in my budget 6.0 mustang swap. Upon inspection of the cam, i found this:

there is one other lobe that is also showing some wear but not as bad as this.. everything else about the cam looks fine. All of the lifters looked brand new as well. Can I just smooth it a bit with a scotch brite or something and run it or is this cam now completely junk? What say you LS1tech?

I wouldn't run it like that. Ship to comp - maybe they can inspect it and polish it???

It would make a good lamp stand, but nothing else.

OP said the lifters looked good...that is a nasty groove around the middle though for no lifter trouble...

You can lightly sand it smooth and run it if you wanted. I have seen a shop do this before and long as nothing catches the rollers of the lifter you are fine. Personally if i was going to take the effort to do a cam install i would suggest running something newer with no issues and fix whatever caused the issue in the first place. Whether it was worn out springs or flexing push rods or worn out lifters.
