Proxes TQ are drag radials. They hook substantially better than 555Rs. They are the same compound as the NT05R and that hooks as well as the MT DRs from what I've seen and the few magazine articles that tested them back to back.

They have the soft sidewall.

The R888s are the road race tire. It's easily the best street tire for our cars. It does dry, wet, corners, and has straight line capabilities equal to most DRs on the street.

O wow.... Guys, I apologize.. This is what 3 hours of sleep in over a 36 hour span will do to you.
I was reading/thinking 888Rs, which are the road race, not drag radial.

I apologize.

Thanks for correcting me on that.. I didn't even read your entire post before it hit me. LOL

The sidewall is the main difference.

98 heads don't have to have a reverse split... Your exhaust probably doesn't flow well enough for a reverse split anyway, most don't.
Here they are on Tire rack, they have them listed as drag radials.

BAHAHA... That cracked me up.

I know why I'm tired: Internet connection.

Honestly... My sleep schedule is just straight F'ed right now. I got roughly 3 hours of sleep yesterday afternoon and that is about it.. Going to try to turn it around tonight. We'll see!

The Toyo Proxy TQs are good DRs, not better than MT DRs but better than Nittos.

Find out why you are only 60' 2.0.. Are you spinning that terrible?

If not, it is converter or tune.

If you have to change something big and not trouble shoot, my first place would be the converter.

You can buy a brand new PTC for 475$ shipped to your door.

You dynoed 350 to the tire, I dynoed 363 to the tire and trapped 113 in bad DA also. Run it again in cooler weather and your mph will increase. During the wait, you can save up for better heads.

Don't pay attention to the #..

I made 36XRwhp and weighing 3500# and 2200ish DA was trapping 95 or so MPH... Roughly 120mph in the 1/4.

Ran 7.2-7.3s 1.50-1.52 short times with small amount of wheel spin... Bottom 11s in the 1/4.

I don't even take into consideration dyno #s with stalled autos.

You need sleep man, that was his 60' with street tires, on the DRs his 60' was 1.76.

He also stated he bumped the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift on the second time slip, that will hurt mph as well.

I'm going to test that out when I put Toyo DRs on my ride and I have better heads than OP.

Actually I'll test out the Nitto DRs I have now with the different heads and then the Toyos after to see the difference.

Even in high DA I would expect at least 111mph from your car based on mods.

The top end of your dyno graph looks rough. Might be a clue.
