Default HELP!!! 2000 rpm vibration

Hey everyone, hoping someone can help. I have a 98 TA with a freshly rebuilt motor. It's got a oreillys stock replacement harmonic balancer, new spec stage 3 clutch and steel flywheel, Magnaflow exhaust and a mail order tune.

Whether the car is in neutral or gear, it has a vibration thoughout that can be felt through the steering wheel. I got quiet a bit of piston slap on startup and worried it could possibly the motor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Brian

call and ask for the balance sheet.

Also, did they re-size the rods for the ARP bolts?

I know Ted at Opel and they are located in Streamwood not Schaumburg. He machined my block and balanced my rotating assembly, I built the motor. He provided me with the balance sheets and was very helpful, call him up or bring the car to him and he should help you out. I know a lot of people in my area who use Opel with no issues and they have a good reputation with the sportsman racers around here so I would be very surprised if something was wrong with the motor. Keep us updated.

I called Ted at Opel, and he said everything was balanced. If I can't figure it out, I am going to swing by and have Ted check it out.

Mine had a vibration at idle up to 2000rpms and it ended up to be the clutch assembly out of balance. Spec 3+
