Forged 376ci LQ9 build thread
Ok, so now that I finally made a firm decision on my build direction, I'm going to delete my old thread because its so cluster F#%d and start fresh. Hoping to break 500rwhp na and 600+ on spray. I realize the na goal is probly not going to happen with these heads.
New parts include:
Lq9 block bored to 376ci
Manley platinum series forged piston
Lunati 4340 h beams 6.300
Hand ported ls6 heads
Victor jr intake and 92mm TB
Custom grind FTI cam for the Vic jr
King xp bearings
Child's and Albert plasma moly rings
Stock ls2 crank
New cam bearings
All fresh machine work etc
Trans:
Level 2 tick performance rebuild
McLeod Rst twin disk
Gmm rip shift
Other odds and ends:
New poly cradle bushings
Doug's exhaust 3" X pipe
3" borla xr1 mufflers
New autoform hood
Looking at spraying a 100-150 shot
Few pictures for fun

It made 420 n/a, and 490 N20 at the wheel on a really stingy Mustang dyno. Should be more like 450 ish n/a, and 520 on the sauce on a average Dynojet from what I hear. I'm not sure why I only gained 70 hp on the nitrous, but I do have a bottle neck in my exhaust that may be part of the problem. I'll find out soon as i'm changing it this week. Regardless of numbers it runs very close to my buddy's 03 ported/pullied 03 Cobra with 150 lbs of weight reduction, so that hopefully gives you an idea.
I really like the RST. Stock pedal like feel, and seems to easily hold my power.
What are the specs on your cam?

One of these would look nice with that intake. I just installed one a few weeks ago, not bad.

Yessir! They are custom made pistons from scoggin dickeys. They are ment for a 4" stroke and 6.125 rod to make a 416. It's a little different than average, hoping to come out with good results and a very reliable motor. The block needs to be decked .014 to bring the piston to 0 deck but I'm going to have it decked .020. Motor should be around 12:1 and I want to run e85.
