Default flow #'s on local mildly ported heads

These are the flow numbers on my ls1 heads that were mildly ported with 2.02 intake and stock exh. valves. My porter wanted to make a ton of tq so he did not cut a whole lot out. His plan worked as my car is quick for a 3700 + lbs car. 11.6 @119 with a m6 and still gets 23 mpg with 4.30 gears

all flow@28"h2o

int exh
.200 134 114
.300 191 163
.400 233 190
.500 256 208
.600 257 219
.700 262 223

I know these are not great numbers but what are the mid lift compared to some of the top sponsors heads? I dont plan on buying another set of heads as these have much more in them with a bigger cam. through a 12 bolt with 4.10 gears it dynoed at Thunder racing 400 hp 388 tq with Mac headers and cutout behind y pipe and car runs strong with the little c1 cam 222/222 -.566/.566 112 lsa cam . Yes this is with a ls6 intake. 12.9 a/f ratio .

If you want to bash then find another thread, I only paid 600 for all work done on the heads and they are pushing my car as fast as some of the big dog heads at full weight with a cam of this size. I just want to compare mid lift and down low. Thanks ,Chad.

Nice. The only numbers that really matter are the track #'s.

First off those numbers are about where a stock LS6 head are at depending on how you flow test them. Not bad for only 600 bucks with valves. You gotta look at the fact that further porting can be done by anyone like TEA and your heads will have those flow numbers. I would lighten up on the way you speak about your heads there.

I wouldn't. The man ran an 11.6 @119 weighing 3700+ with a small cam. Since #'s mean more than track times to you, I think 400rwhp through a 12 bolt, 4.10's, MAC headers and a baby 222 cam is very impressive for a $600 port job.

Thankyou. You spend the money on TEA or any one else if you want, I will stick with my heads untill I see where the afr heads take the ls1. I dont find that I talk up my heads that much but for what I paid, I cant say enough

I think Spinmonster was paying you a compliment in that you shouldn't "play down" your heads

I may have missread what he was saying , sorry for that. I just dont get into the internet skulldragging that goes on alot on here, and just wanted to see how my heads stacked up to some that may be done by the pros. I can get more port work done if I asked him to go a little deeper but he assured me when I was getting them done that tq was more important then the top end pull. Now I have 4.30 gears and tq is not as much of a problem.

first, good dyno numbers and even better track times. imo,on a street car the mid lift numbers are more important than peak numbers.my patriots flow 194(intake)and 147(exhaust) at .300 lift.so you are right about there with some stg. 2 heads at mid lift.you got a hell of a bargain for the power you got.i'm jealous.

Thanks , THese have been on the car for about 2 years now and the car does run great. I just wanted to see where it was at witht the heads. I have got the urge to put a bigger cam but hate to change any thing as this cam is doing the deed. I was thinking about Futrals f11 cam and really would just like to get 120 mph trap speed with the pig weight . NO cage going in my car and no weight coming out as I paid way to much for a fully loaded car to turn around and gut it out. Car is not my daily driver so I dont mind a little more cam If it would pick up 15 to 20 hp.

Lighten up means go easy on yourself, they worked out well, HE was putting them down. I was complementing him. As I said to him he got an awesome amount of work for his money.
I was saying that his LS1 heads were acting like LS6 heads with great midlift numbers. Geeze you can't even give a compliment without getting railed. YOU SAID THEY WERE GOOD??!! YOU SAID I HAD GOOD NUMBERS?!!! I'LL TEACH YOU TO BE NICE AND SAY THINGS LIKE THAT You might want to re-read what I typed a bit slower.

Once again...great numbers all around track and dyno.
