Default DD want power, what cam with good street manners?

Im ordering parts as we speak! I have longtubes, ORY, 3.73's, 3200 Circle D stall, Trans Go shift kit, SLP Lid, Cut-out. All sitting in my house ready to install. But Want to add a Cam. What would be a good streetable cam with nice tone and power?

Can I get 380-390 ish RWHP cam only and mid 11's with a good tire?

Thanks!

Mavn

Look at the Comp 216/220 and its cousins. Plenty of off the shelf grinds that will get you what you want.

228r makes plenty of useable power for the street and is easy to tune for the drive ability you'd want in a dd.

Go with a 228 cam. I have one and stage 2 ls6 heads. Drives great on the street.

There is no way I would ever use a XER lobe for anything with LSL lobes and LXL lobes out. It's old dated lobes that were copied from SBC to an LS based design for use. If you want something that will actually have a great useable power band on an ls1 do not go any bigger than 230 duration on the intake side. You would be quite surprised how much power a small cam makes like even a 221 lobe when its properly setup with good parts in a well thought out combination.

Something in the 228-230 range. Do the heads at the sametime. Later you will kick yourself if you dont. Trust me.

225(.612")/230(.609") 113lsa+4, lsl /lxl lobes, with 1.5* overlap.
