Congrats Dave. Your build is going to be both unique and powerful. I'm looking forward to it.

I have not run the car at the track. Too scared of peeling the driveshaft or grenading the rear. I CAN say it just flat out HAULS though.

I do however have the wife's OK for an S60/PST 3.5". Before I rip all this out I'd like to run it at least a few times.

Geoff seemed to think with GOOD suspension, and shaving a bit more weight, that it would be a solid 10.50's car, and that was my goal.

10-anything.

Sticking to the plan is getting difficult... Lol. If I COULD find a cheap 2-300 dollar 6 liter block local, I'd probably grab it and take it to 4.070 (sonic checked) and completely blow these plans, as well as my budget, right out of the water!! I think the closest I'll get is a 393, and that's fine. I've done all the calculations I can, and with the 4.1, vice a 4.125 crank, I think that's about it. Should be getting some emails in today with quotes for machine work.

Hey Brother, what about the Callies 3.825" Crank with a LS3 block and 6.125" Rods. By my calculation that is 397 cubic inches, or, as mentioned, run the LQ9 punched out to 4.020 and the K1 3.900" Crank for 396 cubes. I plan to go with the first option in the future for my 97

Well, the 4.1" is already here, so there's no going back now. Either I source a "good" iron block that sonic checks to 4.070 or stick with the plan and run my ls6 block at 3.9xx for a 393/5.

Mast heads are still a must, and the stick is coming from Ed Curtis.

I do question what my long block is worth though... All 460HP of it...

Well, I'm sure I'll be letting some folks down, and making others happy.

I'm scrapping the plans. Might have secured a nice forged 402. Just waiting on an email reply.

So in short, the crank is going for sale.

This is what I get for putting the carriage before the horse.

At least when the carriage is before the horse you don't have to see the horse shitting.

I'm interested in this 402ci. You still going to go with the Mast heads?

**** man. There's a lot up in the air right now. In the span of 3hrs I've went from a 393, to a 402, to a 2004 Corvette. I'll know about the latter 2 tomorrow.

402 is still in the works regardless.

Wife says she needs more naturally made mineral on her finger if either one of the two happen, so that's a given!!

Crank is sold already, so that's out of the way.

Wow. Shame on me. What a **** thread. Sorry guys. Hopefully I'm making a new one with Mast medium bore LS3's and a little trick that's still up my sleeve...

Buy the Vette and put your heads and cam on it. 460rwhp in a Vette is going to be a bit different than it is in a Camaro... Plus, it probably has less miles on the shortblock!

Then use the stock pieces of the Vette to return the Camaro to stock(ish) and sell for more.

Soooo, you could possibly be getting a 402 and a Vette or one or the other? Either way, I'm jellous.

Wow, that was a lot of questions and info in a short amount of time.

I don't think you're going to have any issue selling any of your current stuff to help fund a new build, but didn't you recently say you didn't want to tear back into this thing to get more power? I believe you then changed your mind and said you were gonna say F it and flycut your pistons yourself. Lol, you are a madman. I wanna see that stock short block make 500hp.....So close. Flycut and heads = xxxhp? Give us a setup to clone!!

That being said, the biggest problem with a Corvette is that it is not an F-body. Were I you and looking to change vehicles I would probably go with a black WS6. it's the only logical choice.
