Lol, yeah, I jump around a lot. In an ideal world, I'd grab some Mast 215's, a 240/244 cam and hogged out 102 and truthfully believe I could hit that number.

The shortblock on the Vette only has 49k, so it's pretty fresh.

Anyone recognize this car? Houston area...

Is that thing stock? Why does it have a new shortblock? Miles on car? Mods?

That's total miles. 49 thousand. Other than a red silicone coupler, and the wheels, it seems stock to me? I know nothing about Vettes though.

Oh, gotcha. It certainly looks clean as S, but you're gonna have a loooot of work on your hands gettin that thing setup how you want it like the SS. And are you going to miss that car if you sell it?

Let me know if you work out the deal on the Vette. The cool thing about the Vette is that, well, it's a Vette, and it gives you a clean slate to do whatever the **** you want to.

Undecided on selling the SS... I'll prob keep it as my daily. All of this is nothing more than a pipe dream at the moment though. Bank isn't exactly beating my door down just yet, lol.

We'll see either way. If I do to get the Vette I'm getting the 402 instead. Then I'll have to have, yet again, another conversation with Ed and see what to do and how.

Correction, car has 39 thousand miles, not 49k, and my SS will more than likely be parted out. I would lose my *** selling whole, since I ditched and sold the stock stuff when upgrading.

So someone mentioned that the vette would be night and day with the same speed parts compared to the SS. Is that true? I also dont know S about vets really. They cant be that much lighter, can they? IMHO opinion I would take a built F-body over a vet everyday.
They're both cool, but vets never have the same muscle car vibe. Think about it. I have much more respect for a muscle bound shitbox F-body than I do for an equally fast vet. Is your hair white yet????

Vette is 400lbs lighter and more aerodynamic. So yes, a big difference. It also has a lower center of gravity and is wider and will handle much better...

Better ride too. There really is a big difference between the two, I would take a Vette over my clapped out T/A any day of the week.

The Vette will be great, and yeah banks aren't to hip on cars older than 10 years old. On the 402, I know this is the gen 3 section, but an ERL bottom 427 (or larger )will be less than a 2k difference with LS7 ported heads and a stock LS7 intake. Just a thought. Think about it, the ancillary stuff, lifters, pushrods, oil pump, etc, is still the same price regardless of cubes! The heads will be more total, but the fast 102 on the LS7 doesn't show large gains if there are any, so you can go stock and save there.

Dave will make that Vette bad ***. He won't be be like 99% of fat, white haired, Vette owners and leave it stock and undriven in the garage.

Frickin-a-right. I got her. I'll be picking her up tomorrow in Houston.

Unfortunately, with the deal I made with the wife... She'll stay stock other than a Corsa catback and a Blackwing CAI. Both of which, I know **** about on a Vette... As in, if they're good or bad, best, what's better, stuff like that.

The Camaro is getting parted out. With the absolute **** paint, and the dinged body panels, there's no way in hell I'd get anywhere near what I've got in it.

So, look at my mods in sig, and ask away

I'll list it locally for a week, then that's it. Parts start coming off.

Yes! First 2 mods: MGW shifter, and ARH headers. Both can be used throughout your building process! BTW, why not swap the AFR's off your Camaro, and on the new Vette? Pre cam you'd be over. 350 wheel!

Wow did this thread ever take a huge turn. Congrats on the vette purchase. Seems like a road I might head down myself. I would try to trade your parts for vette parts or use what you can off your car currently. No sense in buying similar things twice.

Congrats on the C5. For a good cat back, if you aren't planning on getting crazy for a while try to find someone selling a C5Z cat back, unless you like it louder, then I'd say spend the money on the Corsa. They are not bad, but are pretty pricey. I would also agree with always2slow on bringing the motors parts over form the SS, especially if the cam is matched to everything else and you could bring the tune right over if you have the software. The only things that wouldn't fit would be the lid items, which a blackwing or halltech killer bee II would run about $200-$300 if I remember right.

Good choice, you'll fall in love with the Vette (If wife becomes a liability get rid of the wife ).
Vettes are class, screw all the jealous ones, they act like that because they just can't afford one yet.
Yes I'm older but I'm not fat...and I have 2 Vettes; I still want a 63 split window but can't afford an original rat yet.

Ha, I guess there was no way to fight that bug off once you saw that shiny perfect red thing in person. Guess I cant blame you. +1 for swapping heads over to the vette, but I'm sure the wifey was assured that all revenue possible from the SS would be going to fund the new car.

PM sent on parts.
