Grand national vs tran am

Lol I always knew they were fast. But I just decided to look on YouTube to see a head to head match up an even a slightly modded TA was getting worked kinda hurt my feelings I thought it would be more competitive then that!

Don't take this the wrong way, but these questions are so subjective! Bolt-on LS1 in what? A Nissan 240 or a 2002 F-body?
All you can compare is two completely stock vehicles, because any car can be faster or slower depending on the modification. Once you start modding, it can go either way.

Ask in the racers lounge.
Although to answer the question a bolt on LS1 fbody should be in the 12s, while a stock GN should be running in the 13s.

I've seen a couple run the track here bone stock and they run at 13.8-14.1 and a stock f body here will run a 13.5-13.7, so its close but the fbody will win head to head, stock to stock

Yea "stock" and "bolt on" can mean a lot of things, also driver skill can play apart...I raced a modded grand national with huge slicks in my bolt on ls1 Camaro and had him a 1000 foot then I just heard that turbo slide by my right at the end...we'll see next year with stall and more mods lol

I own both cars. IMO the LS1 is the first car that is as "mod friendly" or maybe more than the GN's. GN's can gain a LOT from a little. A lot with Turbo cars is knowing how to drive them too. On a set of sticky tires my stock 86' runs 8.60's 1/8 mile with me driving, with my buddy it runs 9.0's lol
