As long as we're asking, what does it take for 10's with...
BTW the K member will work with headers, depending on what kind you might have to make a small notch in the K member. Also the C/Fiber hood might be 5 lbs lighter but not much. The fiberglass hood is like 17 lbs, hard to make a hood that much lighter.

I mean I don't have any sound requirements and I only need to pass OBD2, so I'm not quite as bad off as that other fellow.

I really dont want to say what you can and cant achieve with what combo. I honestly believe the 408 will get you there as well. However this is extra weight. So then we go to the 388 all bore or 382 stroker. I still believe (personially but I have no way to back my oponion) you can get over 500 RWHP with a 382 or 387/388 through a 12 bolt.
The best way to get the most accurate info will be to get the car on a scale. I believe you will realize your goals are easier to achieve or harder then you thought. Usually the cars weight is different then what the door says.

You said that FI isn't for you b/c most of the people with FI setup aren't running the numbers the dyno says. DUDE you are trying to get a full weight
sleeper in the 10's. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry to be a dick, but it's funny.
Anyways back on track here. The HP calc you are using is neat but much more goes into running 10's then 130MPH. Here is a great option that would defentially get you the HP you will need, still be more of a sleeper (until you open the hood) then a 427 and you will have the power full time.
Buy a forged 347, 382, 387 or something along these lines. Get the motor built with around 8.5:1 compression. Get a set of very good heads. Buy a Turbo or Supercharger kit that can make at least 15psi. You should beable to make 600+ RWHP with this etup even running a Z06 cam and full exhaust.
You will trap well over 130 MPH. As long as you can hook at least a 1.7 60ft and you drive the car well you should make 10 sec passes all day.
If you have a A4 then you will also need a 3500-3800 stall for the setup and if you have a M6 I would suggest a 373 gear with 26" tall tire or 410 gear with a 28" tall tire. That way you will get through the 1/4 in 4th.

No offense taken
LOLIts been done before and it will be done again.
Maybe I was misunderstood.
Ok when I say sleeper I mean it dont want it idling like a race car with open exhaust and stuff. I'd like the car to be somewhat civilized.
And I realize I will have to do some suspension work to get it to hook and that I wont see 10's on my street tires
There are guys running in the 9's on motor only and I realize they are running bigger cams and no dash and seats and stuff but I think it is possible to pull high 10's with 550RWHP at 3600 LBS.
130 MPH with GOOD traction should be enough.

Yes 9's all motor with a 2800 lbs car A3 Trans Brake 4500+ Stall Shifting at 7000+RPM's, and wheeliebars. Also huge cams, and probally 13:1 compression with 100+ octane fuel. I believe you are in a totally different game in a different park.
Anyways
You cleared up what you ment in sleeper a little more and made your goal more achieveable. (Is that even a word?)
I still believe it will be easier and would cost around the same to do a FI setup. You could do a complete Longblock from someone like APE for 7-10 thousand including intake/TB/Cam and 347 cubes-408 cubes.
Then another 6 thousand for a Super charger, and you have 9 - 12thousand left (depending on what size motor you go with) for tires/ suspension/ roll cage/ fuel/ install/ tune.
So, bottom line:
With an M6 with a 3600 lb raceweight (that includes driver and cage), a 382 stroker with stg 3 H/C, all the boltons (including lsx), a 12 bolt or 9" rear, stg 3 clutch, torque arm, and slicks...
Would it run 10's? Or would it require more cubes?

My vote goes to N2O. Myself I'm going with forged 347 and a 200 shot DP. Very stretable 10:8 of about 420 rwhp N/A. At the push of a dual stage, there you are Hello 10's.
Look at my sig, I'm close to that with a stock motor, no headers and 150 (aprox) dry shot NOS.

Good choice of cam, BTW...
Well if hardtop is that close and only 100lbs lighter then I believe you can make it to 10's. You have to be a Very skilled driver and you have to launch at 6000RPM's and HOOK. Like I said before I have no facts but my oponion is that you can get there.
Good luck to you.
Defentially PM me when you finish and get to the track so I can know how you did.

For instance, if I went FI then I wouldn't need a pulley.
