Default Just bought a Tick SNS stage 3 DCR too high?

I just bought a Tick performance SNS stage 3 (235/243 621/624 111lsa). I am running stock unmilled 799 heads with GM MLS gaskets (.051 compressed thickness). I was planning on running 93 octane but I'm coming up with a 9.28 dynamic compression ratio. Is my math correct? Is this too much for pump gas without backing off the timing?

I dont think your math is correct. Are you using advertised duration for your IVC?

I was just looking at the cam card and it states the measurements are @ .050. All of the DCR calculators I see want seat to seat. How do I get a rough estimate of DCR?

Get a hold of Martin, he will be able to tell you exactly what your DCR will be.

use the durations at 0.006 tappet lift. they're on the card as well.

I think with those lobes just add 25 degrees to your IVC

You're doing the math wrong, no way a cam that size with stock chamber 799s and stock thickness gaskets will get you that DCR.

I come up with about 8.22 DCR for your combo, which is more than safe on 93 octane.

DCR is 8.07.

IVC is 71.5 degrees at .006" tappet lift. Your compression with 799 heads and a stock gasket is 10.72 with piston out of the hole .006" or 10.5 with zero deck (which would lower your DCR).

Glad to see you went with the SNS 3! Sounds like you will have extremely similar set up to me only auto. When you get it all together we should get the cars lined up

Sounds good! I still have a lot of work ahead of me. I need to send the heads out to get milled and pull the trans to send the converter back to circle d to get restalled to 4400. I'm not sure my ten bolt is going to like that idea lol.
