Default Need help with cam selection

I'm sure this question has been asked a millions times and I've searched but I want to get a few suggestions on what cam to get.

My combo:

LS1
11.0:1
PRC CNC ported 243's
LS6 intake
Ported stock TB
85mm maf
fast toys 98 mm lid
1 3/4" headers
3.73 gear
3200 278mm Circle D
PAC 1519's

I plan on driving this daily in the summer time. I want a cam the doesn't beat the valve train and is streetable. I was thinking the GT2-3, the standard 224/230 .581/.592 114 cam or maybe the Lunati 219/223 .625/.625 112. Is 400 wheel out of the question with these cams or not?

I'm thinking like a 224/230 .600/.600 114.......this isn't an uncommon combo.

Look at the Lunati VooDoo #20540711 (222/228 113lsa+4, lift .567"/.567")

No, but looking at your combo, it seems like it would be a nice fit, and should make good power along with be very streetable with having only -1* overlap.
As far as it make 400rwhp, it's possible. IMO, if you don't meet you goal you could always later add a FAST 92 intake with a 92mm TB, change out the Flowmaster cross-flow 80 series muffler with either a high flowing Dynomax Ultra-Flo or Magnaflow muffler, and add a UD crank pulley to get there.

EPS has a 222/226 .597"/.598" 113+4 using EPS lobes (which are endurance type). It has made 430rwhp with stock unported LS6 heads.

390rwhp stock heads:

Another 390rwhp with stock heads:

430rwhp with PRC 5.3s:

I'd do that cam.

thanks for the responses guys. That EPS stuff looks like the way to go, however, I see those posts are from a few years ago. Do they have better stuff than that now? If I get over 400 wheel with a stockish idle I'll be happier than ****.

Then pick up the phone and call Geoff @ EPS. He's my tuner, and a great guy to deal with. Very easy to talk to, and will get you what you need. You won't be disappointed.

Will do. I have a set of PAC 1519's, I'm assuming they will be good for the 222/226 cam? Also, my heads are milled .030, with stock head gaskets which means I will be able to use stock length pushrods. I have 3 different sets of stock ones, can I use them or is that a huge mistake?

The only thing that's changed is Cam Motion grinds the EPS cams now, before it was CompCams.

I guess I meant better cams with better technology. I think I just need to talk to Geoff and see which one he recommends for my setup, I'm leaning towards the 222/226, just not sure if I should go up one step or not.

go with the tsp 228r or the 220 cam. I know a few people running the 220 and have put down 400+
