Default ls6 pcv vs. catch can?

debating ls6 pcv conversion on my 00 ss or just go with an oil catch can? which will help keep oil out of my int. mani nd help me waste less oil?

Both would be ideal for better crankcase ventilation and eliminating oil in the intake. If I had to chose I would just do a catch can if its not a highly modded car.

would you recommend it for a h/c ls1, im planning to rebuild the top end in mid dec. nd dnt want oil in my freshly cleaned up manifold lol nor do i want my to waste me a qrt of oil every 2 months

Do the can now, and when you do your h/c build in December just add the ls6 valley cover then, since you'll have easy access to it at that point..

Regardless, I'd first go with a good CC (RevXtreme, Saikou Mich).

Catch can, much easier, if your doing a head/cam build do the LS6 PCV down the road.

Unless you want to clean up the engine bay or the PCV hoses are worn I don't even see the point of the ls6 valley. A good CC like the RX performance or Saikou like mentioned above will stop ALL oil getting into the intake.

I have seen members do the ls6 pcv conversion and they still got oil in the intake. I have seen a catch can do the job time and time again. Save $ and just do the catch can. There is actually a thread on here about this same question and the ls6 conversion still had oil flowing thru.

I did the PCV conversion and I plan on getting a Norris catch can in the near future.

Do both. I did the valley swap when I did my h/c swap also added a cheap( but looks and works great) catch can. IMO you can go cheap on the catch can if you do the ls6 valley swap too

If you do the LS6 valley cover I'd suggest putting a barbed T or Y in the fresh-air line, then connect a length of 3/8" oil/fuel line hose to the driver side valve cover rear port and use it for an additional fresh-air inlet. Then you'll be pulling fresh air into both sides of the engine(not just the passenger side) and pulling more combustion chamber by-products out of the engine at the ls6 PCV port. This is almost exactly I finally plumbed mine just the other day, except I used -AN fitting off the throttle body and I have GMPP valve covers with my ports up front.
