Default should i replace crank bolt?

Ive come to realize that when I installed my cam awhile back I forgot to replace the crank bolt.......Its a 224/228 .581 .588 112lsa cam in a ls1 z28. Ive been running with the cam for about a year and a half now. Should I get a new one and still replace it or does it not matter at this point?

It probably won't give you a issue at all, but if it was my car I would throw a ARP bolt in there for piece of mind.

Silver_Bullet_Z28, just to let you know, when I ordered my new ATI balancer and head bolts from Summit a couple of weeks ago, they were out of stock and arp was also. Arp said that it would be mid January before they had any in stock. However Texas Speed has them in stock.

When I purchased my new ATI pulley and my new head studs a couple of weeks ago from Summit. I searched and ws6store had the best price hands down. The studs were almost $ 60.00 cheaper from them, the ATI dampener was not but maybe $ 5.00 dollars cheaper. Summit actually matched their price and beat it by $ 1.00 and I was able to get my parts the next day.

Dont let them fool ya they are making a killing on these parts therfore they can price match Just Saying!!!

You need to be careful on Summit I have actually found parts on their site with prices higher than mfg suggested list!

It definitely pays to shop around. Any money that I can save here and there means more parts!!!

I was under the impression that the crank bolt is a torque to yield bolt, and once the stock bolt is removed, it should be replaced.

Yes, that's why an arp bolt makes sense..

I would have thought after a year and half that stock crank bolt would have backed out by now...your very lucky if it hasn't
